Yes, the Big E, the pride of Capital Hill.
The Capitol Hill Classic and the @EasternMarching is the perfect combination. It was our honor to provide entertainment for the runners. @HillRagDC @theHillisHome @DCPSChancellor @sharonabean @DCPS_Community @MayorBowser @Ward7EdCouncil @Ward6Wiley @Eboni_RoseDC

Thank you @WeAreDCAction and @BlackSwanAcad for doing this vital work to protect our children!!!
Working class Black and Brown women can’t continue to serve as the mules of the earth while others live lives of abundance. We call on our @CMWendellFelder to stand up for women of color and not fall in line with the Mayor on every issue.
The mayor just suggested twice that paying early childhood educators more is irrelevant to making child care affordable for families and early childhood centers aren’t “real schools with real teachers.” This is NOT okay and council must fix this toxic mindset and budget. @ChmnMendelson @BrianneKNadeau @CMBrookePinto @CMFrumin @CMLewisGeorgeW4 @CMZParker5 @charlesallen @CMWendellFelder @trayonwhite @chenderson @DoniCrawford @maustermuhle @AlexKomaDC @SegravesNBC4 @SamPKCollins @Under3DC

We did NOT receive questionnaires from @kenyanmcduffie, Kathy Henderson, Jose Font, Regan Jones, Melodie Shuler , Stanley Lawson and Hope Solomon and @VincentOrangeDC, but Vincent Orange did attend our forum. You can see the full forum video here: youtu.be/avUMb9BRgg8?si=ZCES…
🚨 Today we're releasing our DC mayoral candidate questionnaires on public education conducted w/ Coalition for DC Public Schools & Communities. We'll highlight some responses below. First- their top 4 funding priorities from our list. Full questionnaires are here: c4dcpublicschools.org/mayora… @maustermuhle @tomsherwood @SegravesNBC4 @AlexKomaDC @jennygathright @SamPKCollins @wusa9
If you understand child care, you know this will have an adverse impact on the DC economy in higher unemployment, loss productivity and higher worker absenteeism.
NEWS: D.C. says that starting on May 12 it will implement a wait list for the child care subsidy program, which currently helps 7,500 kids from low-income families pay for child care. City officials say without it, enrollment growth will blow the program's $96 million budget.
It was a full house at the only community education focused candidate forum. Thanks to all that attended @Janeese4DC; @Goodweather4DC;Vince Orange; @RobertWhite_DC; @kinney4dc; @ChmnMendelson; @JackEvansWard2. We hope @brookepintodc & @kenyanmcduffie will come our March meeting!
A full house here in Ward 7 for a mayoral education forum. The spiciest question, as ever, is on mayoral control: @Janeese4DC says she’s for reforms (like an independent OSSE) while @goodweather4dc says he’d be willing to “give up” control of schools. No clear answer from VO.

In certain areas of DC, communities go to a school, allowing it organize around its neighborhood school. In communities like Ward 7, students go any & everywhere thereby breaking the fabric and concept of a community. So how can you implement a true CIS model with this reality?
