1/2 🗳️ Introducing DAVINCI: The L2 zk-rollup for universal voting, solving the flaws of both onchain and traditional systems
🎉 We’re excited to share that we’ve raised $1M to build DAVINCI, a voting protocol that does what no governance system has done before:
Censorship-resistant, gasless, anonymous, anti-coercion, and massively scalable voting.
All backed by cryptographic guarantees and Ethereum security.
Since 2018, our L1 blockchain has powered hundreds of secure elections for political parties, local governments, associations and DAOs. We built it with the best tools available at the time.
But technology evolves and today, breakthroughs in cryptography allow us to go far beyond what was previously possible.
DAVINCI is that leap forward:
A zk-SNARK–based state machine, run by a decentralized network of offchain Sequencers with token incentivization, designed to meet every requirement for secure and accessible voting for the masses:
🔐 Votes are anonymized, unlinkable, and tamper-proof
🤐 Re-encrypted ballots make bribery and intimidation ineffective
🧱 Modular ballot logic supports any voting method
⚙️ Rules enforced with zero-knowledge proofs and smart contracts

New on our blog: what's new in DAVINCI, our protocol for private, verifiable and receipt-free voting on Ethereum.
📄 The paper is out on the @IACR_News ePrint Archive: the full protocol, its security analysis and benchmarks from a working implementation.
⚙️We migrated the DAVINCI sequencer to the @ziskvm zkVM: it is now a single Rust program instead of hand-written circuits. Along the way we contributed a BabyJubJub precompile to ZisK, merged upstream in v1.3.0-alpha (thanks @jbaylina and the ZisK team).
Each batch of voter proofs is folded into a single pairing check, and batches now go up to 1,024 votes: one PLONK proof validates 1,024 votes. Ballots are still proven in the browser: 3 s on a laptop, 6.4 s on a phone.
📊 Result: about 6 votes per second on one consumer GPU, and about 0.15 cents a vote on Ethereum mainnet.

DAVINCI's paper is finally out. And the implementation of the procol is 100% completed. Migrating to @ziskvm was the correct decision. Now the circuit code is much cleaner, more maintainable, and flexible. The benchmarks show an excellent performance (up to 6 votes/s on 1 GPU).
