A heartbreaking step closer to bringing Josh home Today we received the notification from the Coroner that our beautiful boy can finally be released back to us. We also received Josh’s interim death certificate. It is hard to describe the weight of this moment. Seeing his name on that document makes everything feel devastatingly real in a way nothing else has. Our son is gone. Today is a very emotional day for us as his mum and dad. We are one step closer to bringing Josh home to rest, but also one step deeper into the reality that we are now parents grieving a child instead of watching him live the life he was only just beginning. We miss him beyond words. We are holding onto the promise we made to him: that we will seek truth, accountability, and justice for our son. Every single pound donated to Josh’s fighting fund is helping us build his advocacy fund, to ensure his voice is heard and that the answers he deserves are pursued with strength and proper representation. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing beside us in this unbearable time. If you are able, please continue to share Josh’s page so his story and the change we are fighting for in his name reaches as far as possible. With love and gratitude, Josh’s Mum and Dad 🤍 #JoshuaRobbins #NoMoreFalls #Holborn #London #JusticeForJosh #SocialHousing #SaferHousing @Keir_Starmer gofund.me/dd553c4dc – at London, England

The special school my daughter attends doesn't open its doors to pupils until 9am. If you have a job that requires a 9am start you have no choice other than to use school buses or taxis for your child.

In case you missed. The latest edition of VIEWdigital magazine is out taking a serious look at the risks posed to the NHS by creeping privatisation. In this edition, I write about how looking to a US-based model for answers is the worst possible move. viewdigital.org/latest-issue…

Yesterday Disabled people and allies from @nipsa held a protest in Bangor demanding travel equality. Northern Ireland is the only place on these islands that doesn't have free concessions for disabled people. We demand our executive right this wrong. @TransportForAll

The Northern Ireland Disability Strategy isn’t a strategy, it’s a brochure. No transport. No housing. No social care. No accountability. And co-design? We weren’t even allowed to respond. Disabled people deserve rights, not tokenism. 📢 Video out now.

It’s the news we’ve been advocating for! The scrapping of the 2-child limit is a powerful step forward for the 1 in 10 families impacted here! @savechildrenuk

The rising cost of the school day is already a burden that many families tell us about. Now here we have a price hike that hits families in NI - at a time when in England there’s been an expansion of free school meals for hundreds of thousands more children. @savechildrenuk

Education in NI is being dismantled by years of underfunding. Cuts to EOTAS, school meals, transport and music will hurt vulnerable children most. Politicians were warned about the implications of their choices. They must now choose to fund education, not manage its decline.
The Education Authority has announced significant savings measures to address an unprecedented financial shortfall in the region of £300m. Unlike in previous years, significant additional funding is unlikely to be made available to address the funding gap. The savings will begin to take effect from this month. Education services in NI have faced growing and increasingly unsustainable budgetary shortfalls for a number of years. For full details of the measures: ow.ly/3tr150Xn1k3

Today we are hosting “Tackling Hate & Violent Extremism – what works?”. At a time of rising racist attacks in Northern Ireland and anti-immigrant protests across the UK and Ireland, it is vital to share approaches that make a difference. We are pleased to be joined by colleagues from @hopenothate and the Hope and Courage Collective, who will share lessons from their work. We will also hear from local voices and communities directly affected by hate and violence.
