“Digger” is a truly masterful film that may not belong in this era. It’s a film that requires patience and provokes thought. Yes, it’s challenging but that isn’t a cinematic sin. Tom Cruise delivers arguably his best overall performance since “Born on the 4th of July.” The commitment and execution is flawless. It’s a transformative performance that helps uplift the entire supporting cast. Everyone came to play ball but no one wanted to be completely out done by Cruise. The result is a terrific ensemble cast, particularly Riz Ahmed and John Goodman, that deserves serious attention when it comes to the casting Oscar. Alejandro G. Inarritu takes big swings with most working. His pacing is deliberate which may cause concern for some viewers but I’ve never imagined Inarritu waking up and eating a Pop Tart. This is real cinema. Excellent cinema. Game changing cinema. It’s a lot of fun watching something special unfold. But I’m a cinephile. “Digger” may be conceptually too sophisticated and a tad too dark for some — which is a tragic concern. But if you are looking for something different and bold “Digger” is your ticket.

Please @Disney just make The Cheapest Muppet Movie Ever Made and bring @TheFrankOzJam back for one more go round. The good will would be off the charts. Then do a show.
Seven months, millions of views and four Emmys later, there has been no pickup for ‘The Muppet Show,’ begging the question: what more does the backdoor pilot need to do to get a series order?
According to sources, it is not for the lack of trying, and the reasons have been creative.
We hear there have been difficulties cracking a premise for an ongoing ‘Muppet Show’ series that Disney (Disney+ and 20th TV), The Muppets Studio and Point Grey will all be on board for.

I want you to be wrong, but I think you’re right. Mostly. The tv show was based around vaudeville, which is too antiquated now. But whenever the setting is changed it doesn’t work. Having said that, Muppet Babies still works and so could a movie if well handled.

Dinner with @GroovyBruce means is laughter is always the main course. The kind of storytelling that makes me wish the night would never end.
Bruce doesn’t just tell great stories - he writes, directs, & stars in them too. Go see #ErnieandEmma - on tour now!

All due respect here, but Sherlock Homes Jr. is one of my favourite films, and I have spent many hours discussing the work and career of Charlie Chaplin on @WrongReel. Allen’s best measures up. However, you can dismiss whoever you like.

Actually Keaton is a good comparison.

Yeah, he’s a writer, director, star with a very distinctive voice. These aren’t the right comps.

He’s closer to Chaplin or Wilder via the Marx brothers with a little Bergman peppered in. He’s also a distinctive artist in his own right, and has made a handful of great movies and a lot of good ones…followed by a lot of bad ones.

@X It’s been 4 days and still no valid assistance in regaining access to my hacked X account other than system generated emails that tell me, “It appears you have control of the account because your registered email and/or phone number is still linked.” This is not the case.

@X, my personal account, @SkyeMovies has been hacked and the email address changed so I cannot access it. Please can you assist?

What an absolute hoot! Had tons of anvil sized fun seeing COYOTE VS. ACME at the cinema just now. It's genuinely one of the best and most timely films made by a studio I've seen all year, which makes its labyrinthine path to the screen even more ironic and inspiring. So well made, smartly written and with a gag every 3 seconds, it's a brilliant tribute to Looney Tunes legends Chuck Jones, Tex Avery and Michael Maltese. Five big sticks of dynamite from me. Don't miss!

"Propeller One-Way Night Coach" is a pleasant way to spend an hour, even if it's just to count the number of Travoltas in the movie.

The Boys of Dungeon Lane is an atmospheric nostalgia trip with hints of sex and danger. It is also Paul McCartney's best album in 20 years.

Original trilogy in theatrical versions first, take a long breath and savour them, then when they are crystallised in your mind as a complete and satisfying piece of work, carefully pick your way through the other stuff.
