Happy first day of early voting in TX to all who celebrate 🎉 so grateful to the thousands of people who stepped up to work at the polling places this year so their neighbors can vote + to the many election officials who worked so hard to clear the state's registration backlog 🎉

When even the guy who once worked at Enron says WTF...
Billions of dollars’ worth of contracts predicting oil would fall and the S&P 500 would rise were placed about 15 minutes before Trump announced a U-turn on Iran in a post on Truth Social. CFTC staff began to investigate-- then were told to lay off. bloomberg.com/news/features/…

This is the Republican nominee for statewide office. Are other Republican elected officials going to condemn the intolerance and racism, or look the other way while it becomes normalized. This is how great political parties self-destruct. Sad.
I heard UT graduation this year looked like this. I didn’t believe it. The problem is now obviously far worse than anyone imagined.

Statement from our President & CEO Bobby Franklin in response to the passing of former NVCA Board Member and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Bill Draper: “‘Drive, determination, leadership qualities, intelligence, and vision’ paired with unyielding integrity were the traits Bill Draper looked for in every founder he backed—and the very qualities he exemplified throughout his historic career. He believed deeply in humility and founder partnership, often reminding peers that the entrepreneurs sweating long hours are the true heroes carrying progress forward. “As a Board Member of NVCA during its earliest days, Bill brought invaluable knowledge and generous leadership. He also went out of his way to welcome me, offering his time and steady counsel when I first stepped into this role. NVCA was honored to present him with our Lifetime Achievement Award. We join the entire venture ecosystem in mourning his passing, and our thoughts are with the entire Draper family.”

For the 25th Anniversary of Star Trek in 1991, they gave the TOS crew the perfect send off with The Undiscovered County. The movie also inspired the end credits of Avengers: Endgame as Kevin Feige took the idea of the cast signing their names from this movie. It also had one of the best teaser trailers ever: “They have been our guides, our protectors, and our friends.”

💫 👩‍🚀 GPT-6 Astra is here (and I'm obsessed) I was able to test this model early and it is so, so good. But even better - it has made me 100x more *ambitious* about what I can build with AI. Why? Browser / computer use means it can use any software to build anything (even games.) Coding broke through some of my hardest problems (data, hardware.) AND best of all, it's delightfully not annoying. Here's what I cover in my hands-on review: 00:00 GPT-6 Astra overview 03:44 Browser use to manage CRM workflows 09:08 Flora thumbnail generation 13:00 Browser use for QA 15:20 One shotting a product intelligence feature 18:36 Hardware hack: live streaming mini computer 22:23 Building AIM-style codex app 24:24 Barbie Bench and a 3D kids game 29:27 Summary: I love her 👉 Full ep up on YT: youtube.com/watch?v=AniiF8rO…

One day it'll come out that the CIA infiltrated Western consulting firms and convinced Saudi to blow its wealth on LIV Golf, The Line, domestic soccer, Lucid, a ski resort, an artificial lake, World Cup stadiums & a giant cube instead of converting it into geopolitical influence.

This is amazing. The White House waived Jones Act requirements in mid-March, and it's generated billions in economic activity and revealed tons of natural trade routes that were impossible while the Act was in effect. We really need to permanently remove this stupid law!
Almost 50 million barrels (49.52) now shipped under the Jones Act waiver.

Totally condemn the killing of innocent people in Mirpur and other areas of Azad Kashmir. Shooting directly at protesters who were peacefully expressing their political views is barbaric. I will be speaking with government representatives in Pakistan and AJK to call for accountability, condemnation, and immediate action to move towards a peaceful resolution. Speaking up against the killing of innocent people is a moral and human duty. To remain silent is an injustice to humanity.
