2/ Looking at the @longhornderek data, Republicans are voting like a midterm, while Dems are voting like a general election. That's not great new for the Texas GOP
I looked at the first 3 days of EV in Harris County (Houston) and marked the precinct lean of the 62 vote centers that stayed the same between 2026 and 2024. Vote centers in precincts that voted for Harris are higher and Trump are lower. The redder the precinct the lower the turnout:
Houston early vote data is tracking better than midterms, but behind general elections. Implies that despite record breaking spending, there is still some vote to turn out, but wow these are record breaking numbers. Hard to conclude anything tho:

Battery storage and Solar are a truly winning proposition that unlocks previous investments in wind. It's dramatically changed Texas by bridging night (unlimited wind) and day (unlimited solar).

Although there is room for a third power conference, you're confusing athletic performance for financial performance. Conferences are formed to pool TV rights, not competition (see Boise State). Revenue per school makes it clear that this 16-team conference would never last.
We need to stop talking about the "Power 5/4" conferences. Currently the Big Ten and SEC payout almost double the next 3, and current TV ratings show that gap only getting bigger. No wonder FSU/Miami/Clemson/UNC (and their House members) are tanking the Protect College Sports Act unless it lets them leave the ACC: on3.com/news/presidents-clem…

Maybe the most British take ever lol.
College sports have been on a wild trip:
<2001: Salary cap of $0
>2021: No salary cap after the Supreme Court ruled 9-0 against it
Now Congress wants to impose a salary cap, but without a players union to negotiate against

I keep reading this post and trying to make it make sense. What do you think #1 means?

In 2022 Biden's lowest approval was at 43%. Trump is at 37% and still dropping. Keep an eye on 25% which is where Nixon resigned and W was at in October of 2008 before the Democratic Tsunami.
In the last 5 Texas polls @GregAbbott_TX is ahead in 3, and @GinaHinojosaTX is ahead in 2, all within the margin of error. No polls give @GregAbbott_TX above 50%. Texas is a true tossup which is wild for a state that hasn't elected a Democrat in 3 decades! realclearpolling.com/polls/g…

In Houston the turn was driven by two incidents:
1. Cops using the cameras to stalk their romantic interests
2. The city sharing the data with ICE, which had just killed someone during a dubious traffic stop
Every flock camera in my neighborhood has been cut down

The final polling models gave Trump a 28% chance of winning in 2016.
Talarico is leading Paxton in the last 10 polls, while Hinojosa is in a statistical dead heat. Republicans are drowning in suburban lege districts.
The polls can be wrong. This is Texas, where blue aspirations spring eternal, but just because something has been one way for 3 decades doesn't make it a certainty.
