I’m not a fan of requiring high school teachers to be at graduation. Matter of fact: the name of this account comes from the first principal I ever worked for- a total clown who required it.

Wow
Just got an email from my daughter's school stating that a parent left their purse with a loaded gun in the cafeteria today. 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃

This. This. This AND THIS!
Remember, just because you have access to a teacher's email address, school number, and sometimes even cell phone number, doesn't mean they are on call 24/7.

At this rate, we should be able to park for free because…What are we paying for?

If you keep adding resources and options, you give students the chance to make their own decisions while you focus on helping them understand those decisions and use resources.

Every accommodation = optional support for everyone. Every differentiation = a chance to add in meaningful choices in content or form for every student.

I introduce everything with the supports the tier 3 students need to all students and the can stop using the supports at their own pace.

This isn’t about being judgmental or policing or anything like that. I strongly believe in the work of caring for children and that means having difficult conversations sometimes. We have to be honest and see things for what they are if we want anything to change.

Some teachers want to ignore the bad apples among us. I'm a teacher too but I don't universally & unconditionally support all teachers. And I question teachers who do. That doesn't make me a hater. There are some bad teachers out there doing bad things to kids and that's not ok

Working another job absolutely takes a toll on me that is often evident in my classroom when I am dealing with students..,
If you think that teachers going on strike for better pay and working conditions negatively impacts a child's education, imagine a child having teachers who are overwhelmed and overworked because they have to work extra jobs, or that child not having a teacher because they quit.
