I don’t think teacher prep programs show anyone how to actually develop curriculum. I made a lot of curriculum in grad school, but no one shows you how to use the table or fit things on a page for a worksheet with a graphic organizer on it.
They need to practice how to break down a simple process into somehow simpler steps
How to rephrase a question they carefully crafted the night before that is just not making sense to someone
When to grab counters, blocks, a whiteboard
When to take a break
When to start over
