Kudos to Pumwani Mat Hospital for leading the way! As a RH Specialist in Nairobi, my big question for the panel on #MondayReport: What specific, actionable lessons is @MOH_Kenya drawing from Pumwani's Clinical Officer leadership to scale up the #EWENE campaign? @citizentvkenya

Am yet to see solid proposals on solutions to avoid such occurrences in future. @NAssemblyKE in its wisdom and that of @NyikalDr established Kenya Health Human Resource Advisory Council @khhrac26642 to among other functions; develop a policy on the welfare of healthworkers which includes mental health strategies to prevent and identify such in a timely manner.
The Council remains underfunded and understaffed almost a decade later and thereby unable to carry out its functions optimally even after inauguration by HE President @WilliamsRuto.
There is need to capacity build KHHRAC and enable it to function optimally @HonAdenDuale.
It's high time we answer the question of "who cares for the careers?" or else we will continue discussing this on social media without any tangible and solid solution.
May the soul of the innocent patient who fell victim to our collective and systemic neglect rest in eternal place.
At this point, we pack up the superiority complex and go do some internal auditing. While @MiskellahMD and co has been busy gatekeeping the title, your own 'elite' squad member was out here playing Frankenstein. Let’s focus on quality control first before we talk about cadres💀🤫
Save the God-complex for the theater. A crisis shouldn't be your excuse to tear down colleagues who keep the healthcare system alive daily. We’re teammates, not rivals. Tone down the hubris. That MO should be in jail as we speak. It's totally unacceptable

It's with a heavy heart we confirm the individual behind the botched surgery in TransNzoia is a MO. It's deeply disturbing that a trained medic could oversee such a catastrophic failure;Outright negligence. Such actions are entirely incompatible with the medical profession.
As @kUCOofficial our unyielding commitment is to patient safety. We will never shield or defend any member who compromises patient care or violates public trust. We ask @kmpdu to buy the same.
We urgently demand immediate action:
@KmpdcOfficial Revoke the practitioner's license immediately; they are unfit to practice.
@DCI_Kenya Take over investigations swiftly.
@ODPP_KE Prefer appropriate criminal charges. @HonAdenDuale @citizentvkenya @MOH_Kenya @NPSOfficial_KE

Replying to @KoinangeJeff
@KoinangeJeff @OBurrows Ask Sakaja-My local Health Centre cannot offer services because Clinical Officers are on strike. On referral to Mama Lucy, no services are available because of the same strike. You need to end this Mr. Governor

Dr Patrick Amoth: Why the Man Trusted with Safeguarding Universal Health Care for All Kenyans is Crippling it Behind the scenes
Recently, something very interesting and which I think majority of us missed happened at the National Assembly....🧵
We've achieved great things as a union. This is a new stressor on our table, and we're up to the task. We'll serve it at the doorstep of @MOH_Kenya aggressively. We'll NOT be abolished in any way.
#ProtectClinicalMedicine
98 yearsof professional growth, zero apologies. Clinical officers are ready to fiercely defend our cadre from those who wish to see us abolished.
We will not be intimidated by 'aggressor of the profession' including DG. Dr. Patrick Amoth @DrPatrickAmoth or his representative who vows to end our training.
For avoidance of doubt, Our growth is unstoppable, and our presence in Kenya’s healthcare system is non-negotiable. #ProtectClinicalOfficers

The Clinical Officers Council is conducting sensitization sessions for all Clinical medicine, final-year students from 9th to 13th February 2026.
The purpose of these sessions is to provide guidance and support to students in preparation for the COC Pre-Internship Examination.
#RutoDeliversTalanta but @SakajaJohnson is delivering nothing on #NBIclinicalofficers strike. Nairobi Patients are suffering just coz of his incompetence. Wantam is inevitable. Other counties are doing good.
Stephen Muthama: I don't like being treated at public hospitals because public health workers are not paid well and on time, are demotivated due to the working conditions.

During a protest outside City Hall, KUCO Nairobi branch chairman Stephen Muthama condemned the Nairobi City County government for its continued neglect of clinical officers' grievances. He highlighted deep-seated frustrations regarding poor working conditions and the employer's failure to honor previous agreements.
Health workers strike because promises replace solutions. Patients are abandoned while leaders dismiss suffering. Accountability has vanished from leadership. @SakajaJohnson stop PR Politics before more lives are lost.

Instead of addressing the concerns of striking workers, a strike that has crippled our healthcare system for over 3 weeks now, they have chosen to intimidations.
This is simply adding salt to an already existing injury.
Resolve this strike and save Nairobiand from suffering.
Health crisis in Nairobi
Public hospitals paralysed due to ongoing doctors’ strike
Nurses and laboratory technologists have also downed tools
Hospitals forced to hire doctors to provide health services
Wafula: We are forced pay locums to help us
