My husband was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer just nine months ago.
We fought for, and gained access to Anktiva (N-803) and natural killer cell therapies. The results have been extraordinary.
A month ago I stood before the FDA and pleaded with them to honor President Trump’s 2018 Right to Try Executive Order.
Yet this American-made, life-saving technology is still not widely available here at home. It is being approved and used overseas while American patients are left waiting.
How do we fix this? We must demand faster access, cut the bureaucracy, and put patients first. Right to Try cannot just be words on paper.

A few days ago marked a one year anniversary that I finished some long, brutal, hardcore chemo. My body could take no more. The neuropathy was becoming permanent. By bones were breaking with no impact. My teeth were as brittle as ritz crackers. I was down to 160 lbs. hair all but gone. Scares around my mouth from mouth sores. My body was exhausted. My immune system was depleted. Sick on a weekly basis. Permanent nerve damage from radiation. I was all but dead.
I was excited it was finally over. 4 years of pure hell. Hopeful for good news. But then I was horrified of the news there after. There was nothing more that could be done. A heartfelt sorrow from my doc…. I have exhausted all forms of treatment.
I was certain that there was a cure for me out there that God had placed on this earth for me and others like me.

In 2019, Zidar et al., published in JAMA, “Association of Lymphopenia With Risk of Mortality Among Adults in the US General Population” and reported that low lymphocyte levels are associated with reduced survival in the United States general population.
Their study highlighted that “based on these findings, patients with lymphopenia, especially those with other immunohematologic abnormalities, may have excess mortality risk; these patients are readily identifiable because tests of lymphocyte levels often occur during routine medical encounters”.
Furthermore, the importance of this finding was emphasized by the following statement, “Immune dysregulation can increase the risk of infection, malignant neoplasms, and cardiovascular disease, but improved methods are needed to identify and quantify immunologic hazard in the general population.”

There was so much information and science packed into a single day of The USA - Saudi Biotech Alliancr summit. We have now unpacked it into 8 minute or so bites and will begin releasing daily tomorrow. The next evolution of cancer and infectious disease treatment is here.
