What an honor to meet with President Erdogan today. Under his leadership Turkey will be the center of excellence for patients with cancer in the region.
President @RTErdogan, who is in New York for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, received Dr. Patrick Soon-Shiong at the Turkish House.

Honored to have been invited to give a one hour lecture to NIH and NCI about our 20 years of work on a cancer vaccine and our collaboration with NCi. Had a great talk and great feedback..apparently over 170 people attended the talk Friday. Will send a link once I get the recording. ALC matters!

Congratulations Gevorg . Your commitment to the underserved and your deep insight to the concern of the next non infectious pandemic of cancer will strengthen the WHO immensely. You have my vote 100percent!!!
I am honored to announce my candidacy for Director-General of the World Health Organization, nominated by the Republic of Botswana. I am deeply grateful to President Advocate Duma Gideon Boko and the Government of Botswana for their trust. Botswana has shown the world what determined national leadership can achieve in the face of extraordinary health challenges. I am honored to be nominated by a country with such a powerful story of resilience and progress. I have spent my career as a pediatric oncologist, building care in places where resources were limited and communities were underserved. I have seen children survive when few believed they would. And I have seen children die simply because of where they were born. Geography must not decide who lives. Growing up, the words “recommended by WHO” meant trust. Today, in a world of misinformation and eroding confidence in institutions, we must ensure that the world continues to have WHO—stronger, more agile, and better aligned with today’s realities. My vision is clear: a World Health Organization that delivers—faster, more effectively, and in true partnership with Member States—so that progress in health reaches every person, everywhere. It is also an honor to stand alongside such distinguished candidates, each bringing important experience and perspectives to this process. In the months ahead, I look forward to listening to and engaging with Member States across every region of the world. Dr. Gevorg Tamamyan @WHO @duma_boko @BWGovernment

Neoepitope vaccine development - the sequence and orchestration of the NK cell and T cell for a durable response with Neoepitope vaccine is important. IL-15 and NHS-IL-12 and Adeno vaccine are key players. Our 2019 paper.

What a forward looking organization @Aetna! Congratulations on addressing the administrative burden of doctors looking after patients with cancer and instituting a modernized oncology prior authorization system. The potential for patients and their doctors accessing state of the art clinical trials as a "trial match" is now real. cvshealth.com/news/company-n…

Our @ImmunityBio team is having great reception at World Conference Lung Cancer (WCLC26) in Seoul Korea discussing ReQ201A-NSCLC (Phase 3). The world is waking up to the fact that ALC (absolute lymphocyte count) and Natural Killer (NK) cells matter to prolong life. The conclusion from the Chudzik abstract is consistent with what we saw in QUILT-3.055 cattendee.abstractsonline.co… Abstract: P3.175: Peripheral Blood Immunophenotyping Reveals Patterns of Short and Durable Immunotherapy Response in NSCLC. The most precise cancer target ever discovered is not a drug company's molecule. It is the neoepitope... The mutation only your tumor carries, invisible to normal cells. Find it and present it. Let the immune system do what it was evolved to do. Our cancer moonshot coming to fruition.

The biology is consistent. IL-15 and IL-12 are key to persistence of CAR-T cells. The next evolution. Solid tumors.
What if the next breakthrough in solid-tumor CAR-T isn’t simply finding a better target—but building a T cell that can sustain itself after entering the tumor? A new report in the New England Journal of Medicine describes a remarkable case: a 3-year-old boy with chemotherapy-resistant metastatic hepatoblastoma achieved complete tumor regression lasting at least 12 months after two infusions of glypican-3–specific CAR-T cells. What made these CAR-T cells different? They were engineered to coexpress interleukin-15 (IL-15) and interleukin-21 (IL-21). These cytokines are intended to enhance the persistence, proliferation, and functional fitness of the infused T cells—potentially helping them overcome some of the barriers that have limited CAR-T activity in solid tumors. And the clinical result is striking: 🧬 Glypican-3–targeted CAR-T 🔬 IL-15 + IL-21 coexpression 👦 3-year-old with chemotherapy-resistant metastatic hepatoblastoma 🎯 Complete regression ⏳ Response sustained ≥12 months This is only a single patient report, so it is far too early to draw conclusions about efficacy across hepatoblastoma or other solid tumors. But the concept is important. For years, much of CAR-T engineering has focused on the receptor: What should the T cell recognize? Increasingly, the question is becoming: What does the T cell need to survive, expand, and remain functional once it reaches the tumor? Cytokine-armored CAR-T cells represent one approach to that problem. This case provides an intriguing glimpse of what may be possible when we engineer not only what CAR-T cells see, but also how they behave once they get there. Solid tumors remain one of the biggest frontiers for cellular therapy. And sometimes, a single patient can show the field what might be possible next. nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NE…

Connecting the dots on discovering neoepitopes and our work on the cancer vaccine, over a decade quest Dot #1 Both Forbes and 60 Minutes highlighted our work in 2014 and 2015. Not many understood where we were going with this 47 second computer analysis of the tumor genome to discover what is now known as "Neoepitopes", the personalized antigen targets on the tumor. Until we could accomplish that fundamental science, nothing else matters. The efforts were met with skepticism but here we are in 2026 and without that AI platform, a vaccine cannot be created! So Dot 1 is the 60 minutes piece and the Forbes article. Now a decade later big Pharma enters the race! 60 Minutes: vimeo.com/113893149 60 MInutes Overtime: vimeo.com/113980155 Forbes: forbes.com/sites/matthewherp…

Exciting to see that finally that big pharma has woken to the race to find a cancer vaccine. What is needed is the PERSONALIZED mutations that make up the components of that vaccine…and we began that quest since 2015 at NANTOMICS! Now the fundamental computing methods have been established and tons of IP claims have been issued…connecting the dots on the NANT CANCER VACCINE .. a decade of work coming to fruition! Will send a flow of connecting Nant dots next. In the meantime go to NantOmics.com and look under publications….patents coming next

Pleased to see the fruits of our ongoing clinical trials in patients with colon cancer and the goal to reduce the risk of the cancer coming back. The goal to prevent colon cancer is even more challenging - a cancer vaccine. Our NCI sponsored trial has taken on this challenge - a TriAd vaccine plus Anktiva. clinicaltrials.gov/study/NCT… This cancer vaccine trial in patients with a high risk of developing colon cancer has now been fully accrued and one year mark has passed. The combination of Anktiva + vaccine against CEA, MUC1, and brachyury represents our first cancer vaccine trial. This time next year is when the second anniversary of the vaccine is evaluated.
Last round of treatment yesterday at ImmunityBio. ❤️ I’ve been incredibly fortunate to participate in a single-patient investigational new drug (IND) protocol with the goal of reducing my risk of colon cancer recurrence after my extended right hemicolectomy surgery last year. There is so much potential in these immune-based protocols, and I hope every day for positive study results and ultimately, access for anyone who may benefit from them. The best news: my latest bloodwork showed a very low CEA, and my Signatera test showed ZERO detectable circulating tumor DNA. 🙏🏼 My next big milestone is March: two years from surgery with no recurrence. For now, I’m feeling strong, grateful, and hopeful—and confident that my immune system is alert and ready for whatever comes next. 💪🏼 #whatsyourALC #immunitybio #coloncancer
