Huge health care victory in MD District Court today, striking down the following aspects of the "Integrity" rule for ACA marketplaces: (1) charging $5 for zero-net-premium plans; (2) increasing "de minimis" cuts to actuarial value; (3) permitting insurers to deny coverage to people who owe past-due premiums; (4) increasing SEP verification requirements; (5) denying APTCs to people who did not file prior-year tax returns; (6) requiring income verification when IRS data show past income below federal poverty level; and (7) requiring income verification when no prior-year tax returns are available. Basis for ruling: CMS cannot rewrite statute; CMS must meaningfully, rather than nominally, respond to concerns raised by commenters on proposed rules. democracyforward.org/wp-cont…

Illinois is launching a first-of-its-kind legal hotline for LGBTQ+ individuals — Illinois Pride Connect.
As the only state in the nation that will provide free legal advice to protect the LGBTQ+ community, we'll help fight ignorance with information and cruelty with compassion.

Two different but related things are happening now with the ACA.
Enhanced tax credits expire this year. If Congress doesn’t extend them, out-of-pocket premiums jump over 75% on average.
Insurers expect healthier people to drop coverage. So, they’re also hiking ACA premiums.

NEW: Planned Parenthood just won a temporary injunction that will allow its clinics to continue receiving Medicaid funding for services unrelated to abortion — despite a provision in the GOP tax law blocking such funding.

330,000 Illinoisans will lose their health care coverage thanks to Donald Trump.
And thousands more will see their premiums go up, all the while hospitals will close.
I'll keep fighting back against this cruelty with everything I've got.

Get ready for #TrumpCare--even more bureaucratic barriers to get on or stay on your public or private health plan, whether for Medicaid or marketplace plans.
* No more auto renewal, required reapplications; continued paperwork to re-prove your employment; more charges; etc.
Replying to @aewright
When premiums spike later this year, we should remember this bill as a main reason. When people get trapped in a web of confusing paperwork just to get on & stay on coverage, they should remember those bureaucratic barriers were intentionally put in place by this big, bad bill.

Donald Trump and Congressional Republicans just passed historic cuts to Medicaid, SNAP, and so much more.
We're going to have to pull together to overcome these challenges.
I promise you that I'll do everything in my power to help protect you.

All Americans should be not just angry but furious by the passage of this budget bill that makes history in all the worst ways—including as the biggest rollback of coverage and the biggest cut to health care this country has ever seen.

Wisconsin passed a budget in the middle of the night that, among other things, increased provider taxes to the maximum permitted value, so they would be grandfathered before the House votes on reconciliation

More than 16 million Americans are at risk of losing their health care because Republicans in Congress are rushing to pass a bill that would cut federal funding for Medicaid and weaken the Affordable Care Act.
If the House passes this bill, it will increase costs and hurt working class families for generations to come. Call your representative today and tell them to vote no on this bill.

Congressional Republicans are forcing through the largest cuts to Medicaid in our nation's history.
Blood will be on the hands of Donald Trump and his cronies as they hand tax cuts to those who don't need them over working families.
Now's the time to fight back and speak out.

Jeffries: Every single House Democrat will vote hell no against this one big ugly bill. And all we need are four House Republicans to join us in defense of their constituents who will suffer mightily from this bill. Children will be hurt. Yes, families will be hurt. People with disabilities will be hurt. Women will be hurt by what is an all out assault on the health care of the American people, an unprecedented assault, ripping health care away from more than 17 million Americans. It's unconscionable. It's unacceptable. It's un-American. And House Democrats are committing to you that we're going to do everything in our power to stop it. And all we need are four Republicans just four to show John McCain level courage.
