Just heard Calif City Correctional Facility (CAC) has been conducting gladiator fights for last two days since arrival of Fresno Bulldogs, using cells meant for quarantine. If anyone knows more info or wants in on advocacy lmk. @PrisonReformMvt @SpeedyVeez @tbrownsanjo @WATV17

Was just looking at the 2022 CA budget again. Did anyone else see 241 mil to combat retail theft, and 5 mil to support the internet crimes against children task force? Both are expansions of policing, but they sure say a lot about the priorities of expand the police advocates

If a defendant is offered a 15-yr plea, how is LIFE for the same offense justified when the only difference is admitting guilt or being found guilty?! Why is this not the epitome of a disproportionate sentence which should infuriate everyone now paying for that life sentence?!

America, where the legal age to rent a car (25) is 7 YEARS OLDER than the legal age to buy a semi-automatic rifle which can shoot 45 exploding bullets per minute.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
1. The legal age to rent a car is not 25. Different companies have their own age restrictions. hertz.com/rentacar/misc/… jdpower.com/cars/shopping-… 2. You cannot buy "exploding" bullets.

I AM NOT A PART OF A CAMPAIGN. I AM A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SURVIVOR WHO THINKS AMBER HEARD SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR DAMAGING THE VOICES OF REAL VICTIMS.

If incarcerated individuals have worked their way down from level four to level one prisons there shouldn’t be a need to continue to keep them locked up…

Yep - agree. Care first is in order. Stop incarcerating and spend the money to help communities BEFORE caging them up! #NoNewJail #CareFirstJailNever
Among ppl so mentally ill they are incompetent to stand trial in California: - 66% are also homeless. - 75% are released within 1 year. No services, treatment, or housing is provided. Most are re-arrested and begin the cycle anew. How is this helping?

Please don’t be surprised by this statement. These cases are rampant in prison, yes even in CA. That’s why it’s the job of the public to say loud and clear that abuse/neglect, even when someone made a mistake, is not acceptable. Also, cases like this need review & release.
Met a client for the first time today. He’s served 15 yrs so far for purse-snatching. He has dementia and heart failure and reads at a 2nd grade level. He can’t remember how long he’s been in prison or what his sentence actually is. It’s 79-yrs-to-life.

Punishment doesn’t have to be inhumane. We can provide people that have caused harm & hurt & trauma but who also suffered harm, hurt, & trauma the safety, security, & love they needed in childhood rather than dehumanizing people & caging them. We can heal the hearts we hurt.

We should never diminish the seriousness of a crime & the heartbreak caused but we also should never diminish mitigating factors that lead one to commit a crime in the first place. The whole narrative matters as does each person in society.

'We employ ex offenders but not sex offenders' I'm so fed up of hearing that statement in both my personal and professional life! If we do not rehabilitate and reintegrate ALL offenders back into society, then that doesn't reduce any risk at all!!!

Make America Great Again can be described simply: The 1950s where everyone - specifically women and minorities - were put in their place...and they knew it. Don't overthink it.....It's not complicated.

You’ll notice that John Roberts never called for the FBI to investigate the sexual assault tips against pervert Kavanaugh nor Clarence Thomas for plotting with his wife in sedition, but he does want the FBI to investigate who leaked Alito’s opinion. We have no legitimate SCOTUS.

The fact that the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court opened an investigation into a leaked brief within 24 hours but has yet to open an investigation into a sitting justice’s wife openly plotting a coup to overthrow the U.S. government is a FIVE ALARM FIRE.

I guess since SCOTUS wants to protect LIFE, we should fully expect that cases pending against the DEATH PENALTY will be honored. Believing that LIFE is valuable should mean from the womb to the tomb, and all the craziness in between.

An incarcerated client just called & sounded so defeated! Said things have been really bad lately in the prison & it’s so hard not to get “caught up” when you constantly see people being victimized… Correctional facilities should not be causing further trauma to anyone!
