#UnitedStates: The case of Christa Pike lays bare multiple reasons why the death penalty should be abolished. The prolonged suffering – physical and mental – arising from multiple failed execution attempts is abhorrent, and cruel. And there are key fair trial questions still unresolved.
UN Human Rights Chief @volker_turk calls on the state authorities not to pursue any further attempt to execute Pike.
We are also troubled by the increase in the number of executions in the United States.

Recently two youthful offender lifers were granted parole. In mitigation you tell life stories & that’s a gift but the real gift is seeing them given a first chance at the life that was lost during their childhood when being a kid wasn’t the life they were born into.
Mitigation matters in the defense field & it matters the most to the person you are there to help tell their story. Always do the work first with ❤️.
A client today w/ 25 to life & only 3 years in thanked me for visiting & said I wish I could give you a hug & it just broke my heart in any other scenario I would have hugged him. Every human is deserving of humanity & I just wish we had a world where all people believed that.
I have an incarcerated client that is young twenties. I sent 5 stamped envelopes to return paperwork. He really put one piece of paper in each envelope 😂
