I often hear folks say, “Donald Trump sent me a check during the pandemic.”
I want to make sure you understand this: Congress sent you a check. By the way, Joe Biden also sent you a check during the pandemic, just like I gave people relief during the Great Recession. The difference is that we didn’t put our names on it – because it wasn’t about feeding our egos or advancing our politics, it was about helping people.
So don’t be giving him credit for that. And don’t give him your vote, either. There’s only one candidate in this election who cares about you, and that’s Kamala Harris.

If @FL_Corrections and @SecurusTech can’t provide appropriate tablet services to the incarcerated, then regular mail should be reinstated. It’s absolutely asinine that someone has to wait 2 years for a tablet, something now REQUIRED by DOC.

@GovRonDeSantis Your veto of bill SB62 denying incarcerated in-state tuition rates is justified by “we are not going to reward criminal activity….” ? Your statement is in direct conflict with @FL_Corrections Mission Statement which says in part “to reduce recidivism.” We would not be rewarding “CRIMINAL ACTIVITY” we would be encouraging a PERSON who is striving to change and do better.

Erlinger v. United States, 77 F. 4th 617, demonstrates a circumstance that is the epitome of overreach and abuse of our criminal justice system. For the courts to pursue an enhancement on Erlinger simply because they could is why the U.S. leads the world in incarceration rates.

At a sentencing hearing, the judge looked at my client and said, "Your lawyer makes excellent points. But it is my job to punish you and to establish that punishment." Some people do not believe that rehabilitation is the ultimate goal of the criminal justice system.
My LO has been at @FL_Corrections Santa Rosa for almost 3 wks & still hasn’t received his property, incl. 2 eye drops for his glaucoma which he is to take EVERY day. I contacted the warden several times last wk, & now the regional director Angela Gordon who has yet to respond.

When the FL legislature says they care about the staff in DOC, this is how they’re saying it. It might be one thing to not care about the safety of the incarcerated, but their own employees?! Start passing meaningful retroactive reform to reduce the population.
Quoted from an Officer at Okeechobee CI, we’re struggling bad. Every shift varies from 6-10 down usually by the 2nd week of the pay period everyone is maxed OT or close to it. So we’re typically forced to run under critical. Worst day I had was running Sec 9 was 8 under critical while still running trips. Chow was ran by the Captain and our infirmary Officer.
