NEWS: Multiple sources are saying that a group of Assembly Republicans left the Capitol mid-session to attend a fundraiser at the Madison Club hosted by Jobs First Coalition. This comes as Assembly Democrats are working to force votes on two bills that have been blocked from a vote by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos — postpartum Medicaid expansion and Gail's Law, on breast cancer screenings. Earlier this week, I was proud to stand beside my fellow Democratic legislators as we reintroduced legislation that would establish a statewide paid family and medical leave program in Wisconsin.

Today, I joined @StateRepHong, @StateSenLaTonya, and @RepKalanHaywood to reintroduce legislation to establish paid leave for Wisconsin. When workers can take time to care for a new child, recover from illness or support a loved one without losing their paycheck, we all do better.

Democrats in the state legislature, led by @StateRepHong, are reintroducing a bill offering paid family and medical leave. Paid parental leave is a policy that polls with 77% support in the state. I wrote a bit about this in today's edition of Civic Media Today (see next tweet).

MSA member and WI State Rep, @FrancescaHongWI shares why tariffs are bad for business and bad for Main Street ⬇️
TARIFFS ARE HURTING YOUR FAVORITE RESTAURANTS — HERE’S HOW. When tariffs are slapped on imported goods, it’s not just about politics — it’s about your local restaurants. The ones run by families, chefs, & entrepreneurs who pour everything they’ve got into every dish they serve.

What do Democrats stand for? Well, if @StateRepHong and I have anything to say about it, it's this: the Economic Justice Bill of Rights. We believe every person in Wisconsin has a right to: 1) A job that provides dignity at work and pays a living wage
