Some random FPL stats/ musings to go with your coffee:
- Newcastle United have conceded the most no of shots from set pcs this season. Thomas has the most number of shots amongst defenders this season. The match up is there.
- Schade is playing like a striker. His shot map is a thing of beauty. So many from inside the box. Attached below. He's in the box for every cross/slow build attack and is the prime outlet for counters.
- Kai having a late fitness test today takes away my mid-term Saka concerns as pens should be with him after today and I'm hoping he keeps getting those big chances.
- Biggest FOMO is Hall for me atm. Could be an FPL unicorn but Cov(a) is the easiest fixture after that Villa with Madjo and co back and Cry (A) with Sarr back won't be easy.
- One of the things I told myself last season was to pile on DEFCON defenders for the long term. Those 2 points add up. That is why I'm leaning Muhamerovic, Silva and Thomas. This is the time where I'm building for 20 Gameweeks and i'm hoping this play and maybe missing out on Hall (not finalised this decision) pays off in the long term. Van Hecke has more 'clear' clean sheet fixtures but Silva DEFCONs significantly more than him.
- Hoping Arbeloa plays in 3rd gear not 2nd and I actually like that Coventry and Ipswich are away ties for Fulham. Hopefully see atleast one of next 3 games with 3 goals for Fulham.
- Rogers FOMO is there but I have to keep telling myself can't have em all. Why I am going Schade + Gonzalo over Rogers + 4.5M forward is Gross has LIV + MCI in 8-9 and that rotates well with my squad. Also their shot maps look encouraging (Gonzalo and Schade).
- De Cuyps is a pick until he isn't. I think once Mitoma is fit, there is a 50% chance De Cuyps starts anyway and his upside is worth finding out imo.
- Palmer cap. He's a God. Him and Cherki are now my 2 favorite players in the league.
Lovely shot maps from @SolioAnalytics attached below. The 3d version I showcased on the video yesterday even better.
On Chelsea's projected goals dip: sometimes this is team news leaking out, but not always.
Main Chelsea-specific move came ~5am UK as sharp books raised their matchday limits, some under money ~7am. Had seen sentiment that the Chelsea line was a bit generous anyway - we'll see!

Pascal Gross has 7 goal involvements in 5 games and is the highest-scoring player in #FPL.
But should you buy him now, or are you chasing points?
