Antoine Semenyo is ruled out for up to two months...
'In the first moment, we expected a worst injury. After yesterday's scan, we will feel better. It will be eight weeks, so when he is back in December, it will be like a new player. Not muscular. To lose Antoine, or any player, is not good.'
Early FPL Musings:
- Saka is a bit frustrating but in my head and heart I wasn't really expecting much against Leeds and NFO which were more CS fixtures and less attacking return fixtures. Think I'll hopefully get something in next two home games against Everton and Hull.
- Fulham duo, especially King has been unlucky. I have more patience for him than for Gonzalo but I think I'll give them this week where hopefully Coventry take the initiative and open up space for these. Will have the tough decision of maybe benching Gross for one of them. I'm happy to roll to 3 fts atm and then decide. Eventually, do I go sideways to Manzambi/Tav or find money for Rogers/ Boomo. Saka can be sold after 10/11 too maybe. Happy to just be patient atm.
- Starting one of Thomas or De Cuyper will also be a tough benching decion. Feel like starting De Cuyper but Thomas is nice insurance too.
- Silva and Muhamerovic feels nice and solid and makes me sleep well. Silva pretty much keeping my Gameweek respectable.
- 2 decent green arrows post the WC and we keep plucking away one Gameweek at a time. Still feel like variance hasn't been with me fully yet and that will come soon enough.
Feeling patient.
Just a tip of the hat to Unai Emery who rebuilds so quickly and manages to get so much out of his squad with limited resources.
Replacing Watkins, Rogers and Tielemans and getting Jackson, Manzambi and Mbaye ready and keeping the transition period so smooth and short.

Matchday morning FPL musings to go with your coffee:
- Don't mind having to wait a week or two to decide which cheap striker to go for as it's pretty tight atm between DcL, Barry and Jackson. If Jackson keeps this up and is indeed Watkins 2.0, might be worth going there. Madjo mins impact a slight worry. Very low chance of going wrong with DcL which is why most are going there. Barry could have upside too worth seeing how much Everton attack in the next two against Che and Ars.
- I'll need to deal with my double Fulham soon so I could use to dead spot one and upgrade to Rogers (or Cherki if he starts today) but sideways options in Manzambi, Tav, Savio also exist. Boomo also on my watchlist. Still think Schade is a great pick in this bracket but we obviously need to monitor his fitness. I own and I'm hoping he's fine by next week.
- If going for a keeper today, I'd go for Trafford if not Raya.
- Current ranking of DEFCON defenders after Muhamerovic for me is Vuskovic and then one of Van Hecke or Silva. I feel very comfortable with 3 DEFCON defenders in place (Muha, Silva, Thomas)
- Still have my doubts about long term minutes for Gvard as I don't think NOR disappears just like that.
- Even today, I'd buy De Cuyper. Not a given he loses his spot immediately when others are fit.
- Emery's comments on Manzambi re Rogers are very interesting.

'Piero is evolving really well... and knowing his character and the way he pushes everybody, I'm sure it's not going to take long, I think. But he will need probably another week or two...'
'Zubi looks much better. He already looked much better today. And we have another session tomorrow, and after that, I will assess whether he's available to play against Forest.'
On Tzolis... 'Again, doing really well. Yesterday, he had another MRI scan to see how the injury is evolving. It's progressing really well. Another one that, hopefully, we can have back in a few weeks.'
On Saliba... 'I think next week we have another MRI with him to see how the healing process is at the moment. But every sign so far has been very, very positive, and yeah, it will be great to have him.
