It is absolutely not true, @BBCr4today Gtr Mcr has sufficient suitable, available & achievable brownfield to meet gov targets but have still released over 2,000 ha GBelt! This is about profiteering from our green spaces, not about housing NEED! @SGMGB2017
It is NOT true that we have no choice but to build on the green belt

How many social houses will be on godley green if it goes ahead ? In your contituency? ... NONE . Did you not campaign against using greenbelt? Absolute hypocrisy! You are not listening and its appaling!
Replying to @Keir_Starmer
And all that gets built is executive houses .... to help people ... of course π
And all this despite there being 'enough' homes . Start listening to the people @BBCNWT
You also talked about infrastructure being put in place , two people fainted on the trains that would connect Godley because it was so overcrowded , something that the community has raised over and over again but is continually glossed over . @MailOnline @MENnewsdesk
Your own front bencher @jreynoldsMP came up with the idea of decimating our greenbelt! Seen as no 106 agreements have been put in place yet and only outline planning has been put in place i assume you'll be updating your council to ensure brownfield first and more social
Homes?
In fact @TamesideCouncil rub their hands with glee and talk about how fast they want to get 'spades in the soil' . One councillor (former leader) saying she wants to be on the first bulldozer that starts Godley Greed Garden Village. @bbclaurak
So @AngelaRayner your own constituency of Tameside has a massive plan to build on its greenbelt despite the constituency not being listened to , despite there being no social homes. Also no talk of brownfield first .. continued in comments
Northern rail have already said they couldnt put extra carriages on or extra trains because its a single track line and there is no where to store any extra carriages. But we are ignored! But building a bridge between godley and the train station is adequate infrastructure π
Passengers faint on overcrowded train , on a line where they want to put an extra 2150 houses next to it at godley green! Our concerns have been disregarded time and time again by @TamesideCouncil . There isnt the infrastructure! @MENnewsdesk @BBCNews

Yes thats what we were commenting on .
So here is @AngelaRayner protesting to save the greenbelt, but now sheβs deputy prime minister sheβs complicit in allowing the greenbelt in her area Tameside to be built on? Godley green is not grey belt! So how does that work? @BBCNews @itvnews
Replying to @AngelaRayner
@AngelaRayner hands off our greenbelt !!! (Or greybelt as you like to call it). You want to build 1223 houses a year in Tameside when generally there is around 450
Built a year! All a ploy to get at our greenbelt. Where are all the trademen to build these houses ?
So @Keir_Starmer is this grey belt? Our labour council have chose this GREENBELT site to build 2150 houses on despite over 4000 objections . Its all LIES!! @RishiSunak said heβd protect greenbelt - LIES . Sacrosanct i donβt think so @BBCPolitics @thetimes
Replying to @CAupdates
Tameside Council support building on our greenbelt too . Their βThink Greenβ campaignβ is absolutely laughable!

@StockportMBC This looks great, brownfield first, walkable, reuse, saving CO2, regeneration and CBD location ππ@RosieP4 Unlike @TamesideCouncil please do better, for proposals on Green Belt whilst the town centres are partly derelict @SaveTameside π

Considering @AndyBurnhamGM still hasnβt got back to us @BBCRadioManc weβve done a FOI if PFE is brownfield first approach.

I said same at a meeting tonight at #Braintree District Council. Biodiversity Net Gain plans as things stand will not stop the decline of #nature. To do that we need to stop destroying habitats in situ and stop pretending they can be "provided somewhere else".
