The National Audit Office (NAO) finally agreed to investigate the Lower Thames Crossing (LTC) in July.
However, they still havenβt confirmed a start date, let alone started investigating!

What are they going to privatise next? The roads we drive on? YES, and the government pumps public money into it too
After privatising the Lower Thames Crossing, the government is also privatising the Dartford Crossings

Letβs build 4.6m homes, mostly in the countryside (and many in Green Belt countryside) and pretend it does not harm the countryside.
Thatβs quite some claim, even for you @CentreforCities!

They don't care about negative environmental impacts.
Dumping 2,000 tonnes of stone and concrete in a nature reserve to rid themselves of #StowMariesBridge says all you need to know.
When hearing National Highways talk about the Lower Thames Crossing, you could be forgiven for thinking they are proposing a new national park rather than a Smart Motorway!

I wrote to the Government with cross-party MPs last night opposing this decision.
Rosebank and Jackdaw wonβt cut bills they'll just boost profits of fossil fuel giants.
If every country pursues its own deluded self interest the costs of climate breakdown will be unbearable.
Energy Secretary @Miatsf has agreed that the regulator can grant consent for gas to be produced at the licensed Jackdaw field.
Gas from Jackdaw is expected to start reaching British homes and businesses as early as the end of this month.

I'll be speaking about Trafford's proposed CRR route's lack of compliance with National Planning Policy and how the community alternative is much more compliant, more cost effective, less harmful and more beneficial for local communities!

Gov says "Planning is principally a local activity because decisions about what to build and where should be shaped by local communities and reflect the views of local residents".
Forked tongues spring to mind!
PM Burnham talks abt "pushing power back to local communities everywhere", but our electoral system produces neither power in community hands nor a local political class with the skills to create local enterprise. D'oh! @c22cuk @rfleuridor @RegenerationEX @stillawake @RosieP4

Everyone note that is not the case.
The landowner had meetings with NG and its agents. It was agreed not to feel the oak. Yesterday morning the farmer got confirmation that the tree would not be felled. They were lying, as the video shows.
Replying to @RosieP4
We understand people care deeply about their local environment. The tree concerned is included in an agreed programme of work authorised through the project's planning consent. That work is vital to delivering the electricity infrastructure needed to power our homes and everyday lives. Alongside it, we are delivering a comprehensive replanting programme to increase biodiversity and support nature recovery across the project area.
Trafford Residents, please sign & share our petition requesting that Trafford considers the alternative option for the Carrington Relief Road, it will be less expensive, less harmful & more beneficial for residents but Trafford is refusing to consider it!

I agree, & yet Trafford is proposing a road solution that will cause County Scale (their words) decline in red listed bird species, despite a community alternative being available that is more cost effective, not as harmful to humans & wildlife & more beneficial to communities!

Totally agree, Trafford are seeking to implement the most expensive, most harmful option and will not even consider the alternative put forward by communities that is more cost effective, less harmful and more beneficial to communities!

Today's reminder that we need the planning system to include considerations of national security.
Reliance on gas as a fuel is a huge security risk according to a report.
In the UK over a third of our gas (that goes into your boilers at home) comes from a single terminal in Great Yarmouth.
Can you imagine the consequences if that was attacked?
