Instead of a blog, here's a Dropbox with all the resources I've made in it. Will update as and when! #teamenglish dropbox.com/sh/gks5rf4alvf3l…
Notes on self preservation, privilege and masculine power in ‘An Inspector Calls’. Will share all of these in my Dropbox over half term.
More notes on ‘Macbeth’, this time on kingship - lots to unpick here, particularly the role of Edward the Confessor!
Another set of notes on ‘Macbeth’, this time for guilt. I found this format online somewhere and have been playing around with it with my own ideas, so please do shout if you recognise it so I can credit you!
A great day yesterday! Not only was I invited to run a breakout session at the @get_further forum in Birmingham, but I also got to hear the one and only @Doug_Lemov speak. What an hour of CPD his session was. Superb! 🤩

This sentence by Dostoyevsky never fails to hit hard:
“You sensed that you should be following a different path, a more ambitious one, you felt that you were destined for other things but you had no idea how to achieve them and in your misery you began to hate everything around you.”

Thank you, @SPryke2 . A privilege to have Ready to Teach: Macbeth open the book and even better to celebrate with you yesterday. Every chapter started with a conversation and yours was one of the first. Here’s to many more! @teachals @DaveTushingham #EduBookClub #EduBookClubLIVE

The book launch last night was such a wonderful way to spend an evening, getting to talk with amazing people about PD. Our learning cannot happen without the expertise and generosity from people like yourself. Thank you so much, we hope the book does your work justice.

I'm still thinking about @Counsell_C’s ResearchEd East Anglia keynote, looking at how we can foster excitement for discovery amongst students through the stories we teach. Next year, we're going to read 'Where The Heart Should Be' by @SarahCrossan. Christine's session really reminded me of @MaryMyatt’s mantra of a 'text as the beating heart of the lesson'. Before we read anything, this introduction is what I'm going to use to lead students into the story. I’ve imitated the style from ‘Expanding Worlds’. I’ve placed too much emphasis on annotation and analysis recently - time to get students curious about stories in my classroom again! @ATTInstitute
