Parking at Jones Beach is already subsidized: $10 per car, no matter how many people you've crammed inside.
But for 4 Manhattanites to make the same trip, it's $11.60 for 4 subway rides, $92 for 4 round-trip LIRR tickets, and another $11.60 for the return subway. That's $115.20.

So glad to report that this week, @ps70_q has begun closing my block to car traffic during pick-up and drop-off times. I’ve documented the insanity of drivers honking at children boarding for too long, and the block is already infinitely better (and safer) off.

Hey @dr_yusefsalaam, 👇 is what the only existing protected #bikeNYC lane in your district looks like on most days. Central Harlem deserves real, safe, dedicated bike infrastructure like other neighborhoods! Please ask @NYC_DOT to improve its design.

How is it possible that a driver arrested four times for driving without a license can still GET a license? How is it possible that people can keep driving despite eight speeding tickets and thousands of dollars in fines? Why does no one have an answer? nyc.streetsblog.org/2024/03/…

The viral thing on German X rn is a docu about a weird, funny dressed, 18 yo who travels all over Germany to report illegaly parked cars. (4000 in 2023)
He doesn't get paid for this. It's just his hobby.
He calls himself "Chief complain sergeant" (yes it's one word in German)

All 70 feet of Third Avenue used to belong to cars and trucks.
After years of advocacy, everyone has a safer street — dedicated bus and bike lanes + pedestrian safety upgrades make Third Avenue better for all who use it.

Queens City Council Member Vickie Paladino has decried unregistered vehicles, called for mandatory bicycle license plates, and sponsored legislation to combat fake temporary tags on cars — last week we saw an illegal temp tag in her driveway.

A profound piece testifying how economic necessity led to using a bicycle for daily living which in turn revealed the human tragedy of NYC car culture. That an elected wrote elevates it still further. We are all grateful to be rep'd by @EmilyAssembly. nyc.streetsblog.org/2023/06/…

Please enjoy my FOUR THOUSANDTH report to the Taxi & Limousine Commission
These reports have generated upwards of $200,000 in municipal revenue (and $0 for me), and I do know they impact behavior (I have personally seen drivers notice my camera and stop at the line) – at Manhattan, NY
The driver Y203031C blocked the crosswalk or stopped past the line near 22 E 39th St on June 10 and has been reported to #nyctaxi. This is in Manhattan Community Board 05 #manhattancb5 & #NYPDMTS. #VisionZero
