From his time in the House of Reps to the State Senate, Mike Rush has always answered the call on behalf of Boston Firefighters. In addition to the Senate, Mike Rush serves our country in the US Navy, a VETERAN of the Global War on Terror 🇺🇸

We should be a city that respects veterans and military families. It is unconscionable to score political points by criticizing the service and sacrifice made by veterans and our military families. Additionally, let’s not balance a budget on the backs of our veterans!
The VFW is blasting the head of a progressive political advocacy group for criticizing a Democrat for including “veteran” on a reelection campaign sign, saying it has a “strong conservative vibe.” bostonherald.com/2026/08/06/…

The @ProgressiveMass criticized Senator Mike Rush,a U.S. Navy Officer for using the word “Veteran” on lawn signs. To criticize the military experience & leadership of a veteran is appalling, hurtful and shameful. The author of these anti-veteran comments should resign immediately!

Every firefighter has a reason they answered the call.
In this inspiring moment from his #FDIC2023 keynote, FDNY Battalion Chief Daniel Sheridan reflects on why the fire service is more than a profession. It is a calling. During his keynote, "The Invisible Hand on the Fireground," Sheridan shares a message that resonates with firefighters at every stage of their career.

The danger to Firefighters & the public from lithium-ion batteries is real. More work needs to be to address this very real and very present safety risk.
