Delighted to share our paper led by Dr Mubin Tarannum in my lab #romeelab @DanaFarber showing how spatially restricted IL-12 in CAR NK cells leads to markedly enhanced tumor responses beating IL-15 and mediated through car and IL-12 signaling synergy through mTORC1
Now online: Spatially confined IL-12 programs CAR-NK through mTORC1 to coordinate antitumor immune networks doi.org/10.1158/2159-8290.CD…

We use somatic mutations to show how a central principle of adaptive immunity - clonal selection - shapes innate immune memory to viral infection.
A huge thanks to all co-authors and collaborators!

We've been dabbling with CAR design since 2018, mostly focused on ways to selectively deplete subsets of T cells (in contrast to the wide world of B cell depletion) for autoimmune, immune, and infectious disease. See:

We found that people with HBV/HIV co-infection on antivirals have more stem-like CD8+ T cells & preserved antiviral responses vs HBV mono-infection, challenging traditional views & opening doors for tailored immunotherapies.
Building on our previous work: 'HIV/HBV coinfection remodels the immune landscape and natural killer cell ADCC functional responses' pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/3868…
These studies reshape our understanding of immunity in co-infection & highlight new opportunities for immunotherapy.
