Zimbabwe will host the 25th Summit of COMESA Heads of State and Government scheduled for this Thursday at the New Parliament Building in Mt. Hampden.
There is an ongoing 19th COMESA Business Forum and Exhibition currently underway at the Rainbow Towers HICC in Harare.
In case you hadn’t noticed:
•all traffic lights along Second Street and Nemakonde Way have been fixed and are now working - including the infamously dead lights at Harare Dr/Nemakonde Way intersection as well those at Nemakonde Way/King George intersection.
•The City of Harare even fixed the sewage that had been leaking for two months at the intersection of Nemakonde Way and Belfast in Avondale West/Emerald Hill.
•The Westgate roundabout was resurfaced after being left unattended back in 2024.
We should have these COMESA summit more often - perhaps twice a year.

On October 3, 2026, Rwandan actress Clenia Dusenge, popularly known as Madederi, publicly appealed to Uganda's army chief, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, urging action against Rwandan YouTubers criticizing President Paul Kagame.
Among the individuals she named was Sgt. Major Robert Kabera, a former Rwandan soldier and outspoken Kagame critic who ran MAJOR ROBERT TV.
⚠️ Just 14 days later, Kabera was reportedly found beheaded in Uganda, where he had sought refuge after fleeing Rwanda.
His killing has raised serious questions about the safety of Rwandan government critics living in exile.

Hertha Berlin had a shout for a penalty and the referee got sent over to the monitor. Before he could look, a few fans ran on and pinched the VAR cable 🤣
Screen dead, ref staring at nothing, so the VAR official just made the decision for him. Penalty awarded, penalty scored. Football is so back 🤣🤣

I find such posts unprofessional! A Government Ministry should not be tweeting about party programs! The party-state conflation is now a pandemic! A Ministry of Foreign Affairs of all ministries must understand the distinction! Disappointing!

Today in Chinhoyi, the First Secretary of ZANU PF and President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, H.E. Dr. Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa, is officially opening the party’s 23rd National People's Conference at the Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT).
This landmark annual indaba is being held under a highly focused, results-driven theme: ‘‘𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬’:
“𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟑𝟎.”
Moving firmly away from mere political posturing, the conference acts as a critical policy engine where delegates evaluate economic milestones achieved under the nation’s development programmes.
The main deliberations remain heavily centered on rural industrialisation, deep value addition, infrastructure modernization, and mining beneficiation to structurally expand grassroots empowerment.
By prioritizing measurable economic outcomes and the consolidation of food security, the resolutions engineered during this conference will directly shape Zimbabwe's immediate national policy directive and accelerate the country's sovereign transition into a prosperous upper-middle-income society

#UPDATE The National Prosecuting Authority has withdrawn charges of possession of dangerous drugs against Bellarmine Chatunga Mugabe before plea.
His lawyer, Simbarashe Mukwekwezeka, said Mugabe was driving a vehicle without number plates when he picked up his friend, Max Mugaba, on his way to a barbershop.
“Unbeknown to him, his friend allegedly had 72 grammes of mbanje in his bag. They were stopped by police officers who noticed the unregistered vehicle which they were driving.
“Their vehicle was searched, resulting in the alleged discovery of the drugs,” the lawyer said.
Prosecutors are proceeding with their case against Mugaba.
