ZANU PF made Wicknel and the people either mourning him or mocking him
The term “kupanduka” , “mupanduki” in ZANU PF has taken a lot of different manifestations but the judgement against such has always been the same ; elimination.
It’s dangerous talk given the fact that sometimes the elimination is actual death.
Zvobgo spoke of how in Mozambique , being more educated than others put you at risk of being labelled as such.
In a new Zimbabwe, Joshua Nkomo a man who had fathered mass nationalism got the moniker because he stood in the way of Mugabe’s one party state dream.
Tekere got it too when he spoke out against diversion from the Leadership Code.
Tsvangirai got it despite having served in ZANU PF structures and as a leader of the ZANU PF aligned labour movement ZCTU
Mai Mujuru got it . ED got it. Now its Chiwenga.
Time fails me to speak of how many who do not support ZANU PF in a supposedly democratic space like Zimbabwe have long been seen as vapanduki.
I get this chat
My own POV is another ZANU PF implosion is ultimately good. History tells us that great empires like fell due to internal disputes. I do not like that party but the truth is over decades it has entrenched its hold on our society such that it has become a formidable enemy. It has to implode for it to be fair fight.
Mugabe protected him for his own political longevity. He is complicit in the troubles we faced today. He was hoist by his own petard in 2017.
You know when Zimbabwe came , we used to say “ZANU chiororo”. We initially assumed that yaiororo the Rhodesians only. Over the years we found out that it would orora different groups of people. Including its own. It tends to be filicidal.
Tatenda would have done well to copy stalwarts in that party like Sithembiso Nyoni. They have mastered what’s needed to survive. They just keep quiet and say Pamberi with whoever is running the show. As such, they are always carried along the gravy train.
Tatenda has taken a huge risk. If her faction emerges victorious, she will undoubtedly have greater spoils. If they lose, she will have a lot to account for.
ZANU inogona kumuorora
That party wants you to look at Wicknel Chivhayo and assume that Zimbabwe is now better
That party will want you to look at zvigananda and conclude that it’s governing well. These everyday stories show the real state of our country.
Why am I in a Bar in Gutu at 2:40am, well a neighbour had serious post op complications after a C-Section. Her husban walked 10kms to our farm (only one with a car and fuel in 36km radius). Drove 50+ km to Gutu mission … she’s in a very very grave state. No point going home in the dark alone… anything can happen on this terrible dust roads. Plus want to know if she survives. They have ZERO money for treatment. I pray the Jnr Doctor on duty can save her. She cried on the bumpy dust road for half way of the journey , then she went unconscious.
All clinics (Tirizi or Majada) in our area had NO catheters, dressing or medicine to assist her.
This is my 10th emergency in the year I’ve been in gutu. All based on pregnancy.
The percentage of C-Sections at the Mission hospital is worrying considering national averages.
The folk do NOT plan in my village. They wait till it’s critical. Go to Muvhangeri to pray for 2hr then “Tisikewo” at the farm house at critical times (always after midnight)… If we had taken her even 2 hrs before she’d have arrived alive and have a better chance.
Anyways. Nothing important should be urgent. 9 months is a LONG time to plan.
Anyways.
