From Chat GPT: "When teaching a four-year-old to read, it is important to understand the child's learning style and tailor the instruction accordingly...Every child has a unique learning style, which may include visual, auditory, or kinesthetic (hands-on) learning." Cool, cool.
Bill Gates says A.I. chatbots will teach kids to read within 18 months: "You’ll be ‘stunned by how it helps.’ "The AI’s will get to that ability, to be as good a tutor as any human ever could." It’s a new beginning of the education system.

There are two problems here. One, the assumption that those who advocate for inquiry-based methods do so only out of belief in its effectiveness. Two, claims that begin with "research says X" are problematic when using narrow definitions of research.
At #EIE22 and ⁦@ehanford⁩ answers why people keep using balanced literacy. She said, "when you believe in something, it's hard to unbelieve." I feel this is exactly the issue in #math as well - even when research shows inquiry isn't a strong approach for learning.
