MANY CONGRATULATIONS to the newly minted Dr. Lee @learning100525!!! She shone presenting her groundbreaking dissertation study on the experiences of women of colour in higher ed computer science. We are SO PROUD! 🎓🔥🎉
Today @sanheetashankar and @learning100525 delivered a TA training on how to support students' #motivation for @mcgillu Faculty of Science. We LOVE sharing research-based principles and strategies for making students', TAs, and instructors jobs easier and happier! @McGillTLS
How we're feeling about #AERA24 decisions today. Congrats to @sanheetashankar, @colejohnson_ed, and @l_j_alley for their accepted first-authored contributions. See you in Philly, friends! #FridayFeeling

#tbt to our lucky day: a visit from the amazing @BetsyMcCoach! On Monday, she joined a joint @MILESLab + @JkayFlake lab meeting to consult on our ongoing #SSHRC project, then spoke to @Edumcgill about her fascinating work. Thank you very much, Dr. McCoach!
#tbt to our 2022 pub: Perceptions of instructor connections to real life & enthusiasm predicted motivation trajectories, + trajectories differed on grade & major outcomes. Ss’ open-ended responses revealed variety in “what works”--and how--for students in intro STEM courses.
I am beyond pleased to announce the acceptance of the first @MILESLab publication, now available as a pre-proof on CEP's site:
“You know what, I can do this”: Heterogeneous Joint Trajectories of Expectancy for Success and Attainment Value in Chemistry
sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
#tbt to @learning100525's 2022 paper examining motivational profiles of 3 task values, self-efficacy, & 3 perceived costs among undergrads in intro chemistry courses. One finding: Asian students were most likely to be in the profile w/ the highest levels of psychological costs.
Many congrats to @learning100525 for her 1st-authored study just accepted to CEP! The 2nd @MILESLab acceptance this week! 🎉 Check it out:

Today is a good day. Our lab met with @MILESLab to discuss all things related to coding video data. And @StephanyDRea and I had a meeting brainstorming an upcoming intervention work. It’s days like this that makes me feel so belonged in the community of motivation researchers. 😊
#tbt to last week's fun at @SALTISE and @ISLS2023. Great work, @sanheetashankar, @learning100525, & @QiyuanZheng2! And many thanks to those who stopped by and engaged in thought-provoking conversations!
