📢37 countries to receive a total of $338 million in @Pandemic_Fund's 1st funding round. 👏
We urge the 2nd round to prioritize spillover prevention and go beyond current aims to strengthen disease surveillance, laboratory systems, and health workforce.

Elsevier's revenue: £2.9 billion. WTF?
We scientists produce the content for manuscripts and review for free. Then we pay huge fees for open access publishing. Science should not be business. What on earth can we do to fight against this?

Interesting to see some of the people who denied the science of masks for preventing coronavirus transmission suddenly accepting that masks protect us from wildfire particles. It’s clear their stance against masks for COVID wasn’t based on data, but was due to political beliefs.

The United Nations building surrounded by an apocalyptic orange sky is the perfect image for how world leaders have failed at stopping the climate crisis.
"This exercise makes the county among the first counties to roll out a program that seeks to control zoonotic diseases at the border areas."
"The document focuses on health with little attention to multisectoral action. It is silent on independent accountability or establishing a high-level political council."
