Music/comedy twitter. I think I've found an unusual copy of Monty Python's Contractual Obligation record. 1. The John Denver track is present and correct so it's an early pressing. 2. The faux damaged label on Side B is present & correct, but the label on Side A is plain white.

My new blog has launched, focusing on every track to reach number one of the NME Indie Charts (plus a look at some of the outside action as well). This is going to be massive fun and will include in-depth Spotify playlists of all the tracks to chart. indienumber1s.blogspot.com

Given how many songs on Now That's What I Call Music! 5 are still on the radio all the time (A View To A Kill, Axel F, Johnny Come Home etc), it's interesting to ponder when the likes of Turn It Up, Get It On and N-N-Nineteen Not Out were last played on daytime radio *at all*.

In case you missed it earlier this week, Real Gone's new year began with this review of 'You Can Walk Across It On The Grass', an excellent compilation of #60s sounds. realgonerocks.com/2024/01/va…

Chazza shop LP find of the week. Want to hear what a James Last orchestra cover version of Peter Gabriel's 'Games Without Frontiers' sounds like? Surprisingly good as it turns out. @charityclassics LINK youtube.com/watch?v=fs02KUXk…

December 1964. The Daleks are very nearly as big as The Beatles, and someone inevitably has the bright idea of doing a Dalek pop single. It isn't a hit, but it really is an extraordinary record... timworthington.org/2020/12/1…
