Left and to the Back

Who can tell me whether this single was ever actually released? Discogs and eBay have always produced nothing. I strongly suspect this group never signed to a label and strings were pulled or favours begged to get this one screened on The Chart Show. youtu.be/u5wL3gEXUAA?si=4iCd…

Although I have to say, in a world of relentless nastiness at the moment, there is something really heart-warming about this modest acoustic performance. They had no idea anybody was looking for them. youtu.be/R7YDOKG3o3A?si=SgU6…

Another demo tape track from those cheeky "Subways Of Your Mind" Lostwave stars. Is it me or is this actually pretty decent? I was never wholly convinced by the fuss around "Subways", but this is solid gloomy synth-pop. youtu.be/T9uasvZpR84?si=TLuW…

Left and to the Back readers will already be aware of Simon Groom's only single, of course, but for the benefit of the latecomers to the party, enjoy this. It's quite something. youtu.be/_xEjYI_y-a0?si=Dgsr…

Wow! It seems as if, according to those good folk over on the UKMix Forums, that Simon Groom's cover of "I Can't Help Falling In Love" did chart after all - albeit to a very lowly extent.

This popped up on my 60s shuffle earlier - one of the more obscure flop pop singles from the era. This "mystery group" were promoted only with pictures of owls. "This is the year of 1987/and I am 24 at the end of the week" the singer lies at the start. youtu.be/P2JyWRsB_OI?si=yZW0…

It would be remiss of me not to point out that a psychedelic test pressing/white label for a song I've never heard in my life has turned up on YouTube. Amazingly, this stuff STILL happens. youtu.be/obnyL2x-YuQ?si=nE3D…

OK, here's another Lostwave track, taken from a KFC playlist in Moscow in 2014. This sounds uncannily like something the Style Council would have done, while also clearly not being them. I also suspect it's probably not that obscure. It's irritating me. youtu.be/Vs1nvNMeG3o?si=gguR…

Throwing this one out here again in the vain hope that somebody will be able to help identify it. That woozy slide guitar is superb - almost akin to "Late Night" by Syd Barrett (obviously I'm not claiming that he had any involvement in this, though). youtu.be/QZ9M4QrLP38?si=vmfG…

I see those meddling "mystery song" kids on YouTube have recently unveiled a single I featured on Left and to the Back 12 years ago. These things never stay "found" forever, it seems, they keep on bobbing back underwater again. youtu.be/XcJDQoOUnto?si=201M…
