This is a balanced statement from the always thoughtful @LonTravelWatch on the need to rethink floating bus stops in London. I support their calls and I hope TfL and boroughs will take heed. londontravelwatch.org.uk/new…

This Black History Month, we celebrate the Black Londoners whose contributions are woven into the story of our city. Black history is London’s history.

A major new report by police chiefs has found that a rise in violence against women and girls is linked to "online influences" and harmful content. In its first national risk assessment - the report said at least 230,000 children and young people in relationships were victims of abuse. They also found domestic abuse remained the most significant threat and described the scale of violence as a "national emergency".

Today is #WorldFoodDay - but even in the UK millions are struggling every day to feed themselves & their families Our unions supported @The_TUC motion backing the call for a legal Right to Food, universal free school meals & investing in communities. #Hungerisapoliticalchoice
Great to hear the Prime Minister reference our #RightToFood campaign at #PMQs today and commit to ending child hunger in response to @JamesAsser MP. These welcome words must now be backed by urgent Government action. Our communities cannot wait. I look forward to presenting the #RightToFoodCommission report to the PM next week and working with him to implement its recommendations. The roadmap is there. Now we need the political will to deliver a Right to Food for all. Hunger is a political choice. ✊

Delighted that @andyburnham used the golden words The RIGHT to Food at the dispatch box at PMQs. The Right to Food Commission has worked hard to bring experiences of people together to create a compelling case for change. Now we need actions to follow those golden words.

🙏 support this important memorial tomorrow night, from 6pm to 7.30pm. Life expectancy for people living on our streets is 30 years less than people with homes. Life expectancy for people with drug or alcohol dependency is equally 30 years less than the national average.

Can someone help us get this message to @andyburnham? Labour voters want public ownership, not public control - it is time to deliver it

Energy is an essential, not a luxury. At Energy UK's 2026 conference, I joined industry leaders to explore how government can build an energy system that delivers affordable energy for people and businesses alike across the UK.

Long before the issue of reparations reached the UN, campaigners kept it alive through decades of dismissal and ridicule. Ahead of the UK Reparations Conference, I've written for The Voice about why they must be at the heart of what happens next. voice-online.co.uk/opinion/c…

I’m deeply saddened to hear that Pat Karney has died. Pat gave nearly 50 years of his life to serving Manchester. He saw the city through some of its toughest times and played his part in the growth and transformation that followed. I knew Pat for many years. He loved Manchester deeply and was a tireless champion for the people he represented. I’ll miss him greatly. My thoughts are with his family and everyone who knew and loved him.
