When I read “ We are fighting the liberals in the SBC!” From an SBC pastor I am reminded that most of never met a true liberal before.

The grand irony of the #SBC23 results is that if women in leadership at every SBC church took a year off from serving, next years convention numbers would be a abysmal.

I was thinking this morning how we’re all disciples of someone. Of some entity. Some doctrine. I was thinking how quickly you can tell these days which news networks we’re discipled by. I’m not just talking about one in particular. Take your pick. We the people have become we the parrots. No nuance. No critical thinking. No inconvenient listening. No attempts to understand other views. Just parrots.
We have chosen the narrow way alright. Just not the narrow way Jesus meant. His narrow way opens wide our heart’s capacity to love (even our enemies!) and our mind’s capacity to consider others as more important than ourselves. If we hate more people and spew more derision than we did 5 years ago, we may believe in Jesus but make no mistake. We are not his disciples.
All the “I cannot believe they are canceling service on Christmas” commentators never worked for the church.
The amount of clout chasing from SBC groupies and “journalists” is incredible. There should be a Gaslighting hall of fame

For years the SBC erroneously convinced themselves it was biblically permissible to devalue & mistreat AAs. Simultaneously,they’ve adopted a less severe, but similar posture with women under a false veneer of biblical approval. Grateful God has raised up Rick Warren to push back
It is crazy this even has to be addressed and the trustees, as well as administration of Southern don’t do this on their own accord.

I agree with Rick Warren on gift verses office. By denying women the right to exercise gifts given to them by Holy Spirit, the SBC is continuing to abuse women. I respect Warren for standing on biblical principle, & not capitulating to non biblical traditional sbc thought.
