In the Bible, whenever people encounter an angel, that angel is embodied; whenever people encounter an evil spirit (exception: Satan in the temptation of Jesus), that demon is disembodied. I'm not entirely sure of the significance; I just realized this when teaching last week.
1. It makes me even less likely to adopt a theory of the "sons of God" and the "Nephilim" in Genesis 6 that features the notion of embodied fallen angels procreating with human women to produce superhuman offspring. That one occasion would be quite the outlier.
We in North Texas are standing on the cusp of one of my favorite seasons of the year: Find-$10-you-left-in-your-coat-pocket-last-year Season.

The Milwaukee Brewers play a brand of baseball many teams need to take note of.

Totally despicable for Fox Sports to run a soft porn advertisement during the NLC championship baseball series. Fox should be held accountable for this because is so disrespectful of women and shameful for the eyes of all, including children who just want to watch a baseball game.
I'm rooting for the Brewers because it is good to see pure, small-ball baseball win on the diamond. It's a joyful thing to see the Yankees and the Dodgers lose on the fundamentals.
Thank you @realDonaldTrump for the decision NOT to livestream the execution.
Here’s a conversation I had with Marc Ramirez at @USATODAY about James Talarico. *paywall*
This is why I am rooting for the Brewers.

In a different day and time, where one might hope it would provoke in people some somber reflection upon the fragility of life, the atrocity of murder, and the inevitability of judgment, there might be some value found in public execution.
