This is an interesting study when a corn field is dealing with temporarily saturated soils.
🌽 Does corn still respond to N after waterlogging?
An Ohio study found that waterlogging reduced corn yields by up to 25%, but plants still responded to sidedress N. The usual ear leaf N sufficiency threshold (2.75%) remained applicable after flooding.

Cover crops must be managed as a tool to get to more bushels of corn.
Cover crops, reduced tillage, water quality and soil health all matter. But they also have to fit into a system designed to produce high-yielding cash crops.
In our recent episode, Dr. Chad Lee discusses finding that balance.
