Well done @HevMarriott - more great output from @KCLDriveHealth students, this one in partnership with @GSK
Another chapter of @HevMarriott's PhD turned into a great publication!By analysing genetic data of 11,130 pwALS and 7,416 controls we revealed an intricate genetic architecture of the NEFH gene with both protective and risk variants in specific domains

Glad to see this published! We investigated how genetic variants 🧬 in the NEFH (neurofilament heavy chain) gene influence the risk of ALS and found that variants in different sections of the gene have varying effects on risk. Check it out 👇 #MND #ALS

Check out this blog I recently wrote for the MNDA, which summarises some highlights of the genetics research presented at the 34th #alsmndsymp, and what impact this could have for the #ALS #MND community 🧬💻
Our genes could help us understand more about disease progression and risk of developing #MND #ALS. 🧬
@HevMarriott covers some of the exciting genetic research happening around the world and the impact it could have.
