Just finished tuning in to this. Learned a lot. Great job by @MUNQITHDAGHER as always. He and his group have been doing very reliable polling for so long and know how to deal with all the difficulties of field work. Doing polling is more difficult now than just a few years ago.

This reception room looks very similar to the one in mam Jalal's house in Dabashan. Also good to see engagement of Baghdad's think tanks by Kurdish parties.

The different visions for US-Iraq relations on display: fasail trample on the American flag in Baghdad today while young Iraqi graduates of U.S.-supported exchange programs celebrate ties with America just two weeks ago. Example of troubled relations & competition for influence.
Replying to @USEmbBaghdad
#CDA Ambassador Steven H. Fagin was delighted to join the Alumni Summit in Baghdad, celebrating the relaunch of the Iraq-U.S. Exchange Alumni Association! It is inspiring to see U.S. exchange alumni connecting with American businesses to strengthen the future of U.S.-Iraq commercial ties. #U.S.-IraqAlumniSummit2026

I had the pleasure of attending this session with Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein. He shared an honest read of events in Iraq and an update on US-Iraq relations. Great job by @AymenAlfaisal.
Yesterday, I was honored to organize the final roundtable discussion for H.E. After 12 years of deployment in Iraq to support the country’s fight against the Islamic State group, US troops have departed. What does this new chapter mean for Iraq’s security, the wider region, and the future of US-Iraq relations? I’ll be hosting a timely @FPRI discussion with two leading Iraq and US policy experts, @davidschenker1 of @WashInstitute and @IraqShamel of @enablingpeace, to unpack these questions, their broader implications, and what comes next. Mark your calendars and join us on: 📅 October 15 ⏰ 11:00 a.m. ET. fpri.org/event/2026/iraq-aft…

I am starting a count of what I call the “Zaidi Magic.” He uses it with the Trump Administration to convince it about things quickly & efficiently. Examples: - Extending the disarming date of fasail by 9 months. - Fixing flights between Najaf & Iran. - Fixing his bank situation.

I was honored to participate and speak at the inaugural CENTCOM-MEI Strategic Forum, “The Middle East Beyond the Iran War.” Too many variables and uncertain directions. I hope a path to peace takes shape sooner rather than later. @CENTCOM @MiddleEastInst #MiddleEast
