Busy week so wasnโt very activate. I liked Metaโs results but the reaction was understandable given the future dilution signal. $GOOG has basically been dead since they diluted.

Had the wonderful opportunity to work with P on a memory article. Unique piece on the big three in memory and the alternative ways to play them: preferred shares, parents, holdcos. A free article and right before earnings. The trade does not bet on cycle duration. Nothing is risk free, but this is as close as it gets. Link in replies.

May prevent upgrade to developed market status if they block shorting, but the attitude toward the market speaks volumes ๐ข
LEE HYOUNG-IL, SOUTH KOREAโS DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER AND MINISTER OF FINANCE AND ECONOMY: WE ARE PREPARING TO DEPLOY MARKET STABILIZATION MEASURES IF STOCK MARKET VOLATILITY INCREASES.
WE WILL DECIDE WHETHER TO IMPLEMENT SPECIFIC MEASURES, SUCH AS ACTIVATING THE STOCK MARKET STABILIZATION FUND OR TEMPORARILY BANNING SHORT SELLING, BASED ON MARKET CONDITIONS.
Not a pretty week for me. I spent some time reflecting and I still wonder what the true lessons and takeaways are. Had I owned pretty much any other semi stocks, I would have fared a lot better. I understand that I have chosen to long companies that are cyclical, but I still struggle to understand why the money printers that are trading at 2027 book value are getting beaten to death. If the large AI risks truly play out, it totally makes sense for my stocks to fall to book value. I can't speak on the high flyers, but how does it make any sense for them to holding up better?
I posted a little bit about my thoughts this week, with the Livermore story on breaking oats to cover his corn but I want to expand a bit. Korea is a thin market that is dominated by Samsung and Hynix. Micron trades over 5x the dollar volume of Samsung and Hynix. Nvidia, Broadcom, SanDisk, AMD, Intel, all trade well more dollar volume than Samsung/Hynix. Even neoclouds like CoreWeave and Nebius trade at over half of the dollar volume despite being a tiny fraction of the market cap.
So, if you are trying to bring AI stocks down, is the most logical method not to try to nuke Korea and have that sentiment ripple over to American AI stocks? The obvious risk is getting caught offside but with KOSPI futures, EWY, Samsung GDR, Hynix GDR and ADR, SK Square, SK Inc, it seems relatively easy to put this trade on and then find an exit route/hedge.
Anyway, always willing to learn so if someone has thoughts or opinions I'd be glad to heard them.

Samsung EV below Micronโs. Hynix trading possibility at next year book value, actively returning capital. Low bars to step over.
Maybe applicable to todayโs market:
Livermore was short corn, but a powerful trader had cornered the corn market, making it difficult to cover his short without driving prices higher. Livermoreโs solution was to short oats to trigger selling pressure, hoping traders would then anticipate weakness in corn and sell it too. This helped him exit his corn position.
Perhaps if someone wanted to trigger selling among AI infrastructure, the easier move would be to break the Korean market and have that spillover to the American market.

Samsung is expected to post a ~$79B operating profit tonight, the largest of any company in history. Yes thatโs right, even more than $NVDA made last quarter.
But expectations are sky-high and the strong won is a major headwind. The market is not looking for a record, it's looking for a surprise. Will it be enough?

Samsung keeps winning and the market is letting you buy it at 3 P/E and 2027YE TBV. Why arenโt you doing it ๐ค๐ญ
I love Samsung so much, I wish I could put everything Iโve look at into everyone elseโs head. Iโm at constant disbelief at how beautiful of an opportunity there is that few are talking about. Especially since one of its closest peers is a hot topic on the market.

I truly think at some point in the next decade, $SNAP will hit a $1 trillion valuation.
Is that just delusion? ๐ค
Will $SNAP hit a $1T market cap by 2036?
Vote below ๐
By 2036, I think Snap could be doing:
๐ฐ $30B+ in revenue
๐ต $10B+ in net income
๐ $1T market cap
That would put $SNAP at roughly a 100ร P/E.
Sounds crazy today.
But if users become one of the most valuable assets in the AI eraโand Snap continues to own a massive, young global user base (near a billion users)โI think the market could justify a significant premium. And donโt forgot about specs. ๐ A decade from now imagine them with 10 years of technological innovation. They will be 100 times better.
Am I crazy? ๐ Could
Snap be a one trillion dollar company???
