The sellers of the ~25% stake in Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) reportedly include state-backed pension funds and agencies such as NSSF, the Public Servants Pension Scheme, County Workers Pension Fund and UFAA, alongside pension schemes of Kenya Power, KPC and KPA.
Their combined shareholding has reportedly fallen from 38.35% to below 15%, with Dangote emerging as KPC’s second-largest shareholder after the government.

BARIS: This is what @NateSilver538 does that others like @RCPolitics do not. And actually, others do it too.
This is why I always favor the RCP average. They do not toy with the weights.
They say, you’re a valid pollster, you’re credible, you’re reliable. I’ll put you in, and we simply do basic math and average out the results.
BARIS: This is what pisses me off so much about this story. We had methodological problems, but we had ethical problems.
@NateSilver538 claims to be the guru of polling, the arbiter of who is real and who is not.
He weighted Wedgwood, which was a fake firm, higher than @nytimes, @QuantusInsights, @honestpollster.
Nate thinks he’s smarter than everybody.
This is why his model has humiliated him year after year.
We need a complete rehaul in this industry. We just can’t have pollsters do that.
This is a threat to democracy.

It's the third time I share an article to my colleagues telling them to sit tight and grab popcorn....

- Spent months chasing Ashworth, paid compensation to get him, then sacked him just 4 months later.
- Extended Ten Hag’s contract, only to sack him 3 months later.
- Appointed Amorim, a back three coach to manage a squad built for a back four, then sacked him 10 months later.
- Gave Carrick the permanent job after his successful interim spell, only to most likely sack him by the end of this month.
NO VISION. NO PROJECT. NO IDEA. INEOS ARE WORSE THAN THE GLAZERS.

United fans hold the only lever that reaches the Glazers and INEOS: revenue. No merchandise, no home games, until the owners feel it on the balance sheet. But they won’t do it. Twenty years of protests, green and gold, walkouts, and the season tickets still renew. A boycott that never materialises is consent. If you keep funding the ownership, stop calling yourself the resistance. You are the revenue line that keeps them here.
One of the things about great managers is the see the sack coming weeks before it happens so they start advertising for their next job. They go after the board, the players, the owners etc to make sure future potential employees don’t blame it all on them. Carrick’s inexperience and decency is going to result in his reputation being torched because his bosses hung him out to dry.

Emotional take. Game is lost. Might as well play the youngsters. Some of these so-called fans seem to be new to United.

If Carrick pays for this with his job and not Wilcox then it’s a disgrace. Carrick got Utd in to the Champions League, Wilcox made sure we got knocked out of it.

Can't be skimming off millions from a club and only investing like misers yet expect to be on top.
The combination of the Glazers and now this Ratcliffe fellow is a disaster.

Every season we find new theories.
Bottom line: Every coach who comes to United will eventually fail. The problem is lack of support from the ownership. It is really quite simple.

It is. Carrick will lose his job tomorrow. Conte will be appointed. He will get a bounce. We will even rescue the season emphatically.
Then like every other decent coach we have employed since Sir Alex, he will not get the support he needs from the owners, and then he will fk off or get fired, and the cycle will repeat.
It is not the coaches. It is the ownership!
Numerous companies have been sold to international groups rather than locals because we lacked capacity.
It’s time to start building that capacity and putting ourselves in a position to be owners of this economy. This is a small step, but an important one in that direction

🚨IT'S OFFICIAL: 🇺🇸 The GENIUS Act [Stablecoins] will be implemented into the traditional financial system.
The CLARITY Act is the NEXT STEP because the GENIUS Act is INEFFECTIVE without the CLARITY Act.
THE GOLDEN AGE IS UPON US! 👏👀

The GENIUS Act marks a watershed moment in American finance, further cementing the United States as the crypto capital of the world. Just as President Abraham Lincoln’s National Currency Act of 1863 established a national framework for bank-issued currency, the GENIUS Act establishes a federal framework for payment stablecoins in the digital age.
The @USOCC's final rule carries that landmark legislation forward, providing a clear, practical foundation for private-sector innovation, competition, and American leadership in digital assets.

Sir,
there is a simple maxim by which to analyse such outcomes: 'Show me an incentive and I'll show you the outcome'.
So long as little attention is given to a trustee's incentives, so long as tears will be shed for the perennial lost 'workers' savings'.

Same script as the Safaricom shares. Acquisition just before dividends are paid. Why would public entities buy shares and sale to undisclosed investors just before they earn dividends from the initial investment? Utter misuse of public resources
We got a few details from President Ruto on Monday’s Kenya Pipeline KES 42.5B mysterious block transaction:
—He confirmed that private investors acquired a 25% stake in Kenya Pipeline Company from public entities, describing the transaction as part of efforts to mobilise private capital for strategic infrastructure.
—We still do not know the identities of the buyers or the selling public entities.

That paragraph argues the opposite of what you have taken from it. The essay’s stated position is the sports minister’s line it endorses: do not fight crime by committing a crime. It calls the enforcement grievance legitimate, calls the reserved-sector statutes sound, and locates the failure in states that will not enforce their own laws, which is how enforcement migrates to the mob. The closing paragraph extends that warning to Kenya: our statutes are just as unenforced, our citizens just as tired, so the same vacuum will invite the same lawlessness unless the state enforces first. ‘If we are not careful’ is a demand for lawful enforcement before the mob supplies its own. The title is Crime vs Crime because both crimes are condemned.
