The occasion was always going to be used for gaining political mileage. It’s obvious that those who felt they couldn’t do so would arrange to have the occasion marred. What is at stake is not the legacy of Baba but whether it will be carried forward. From what we witnessed his dreams live on.
Ida Odinga: Reports that individuals may have been paid and transported to the gathering (Raila’s first memorial) for the purpose of heckling, intimidating or disrupting invited guests are deeply disturbing. Such actions represent a grave disrespect not only to our family, but also to Raila's memory and to the thousands who came in peace.
Interesting economics. Sell ‘strategic ‘ public institutions that bring in value and good dividends. Use fund to buy government bonds to earn dividends. Continue to misuse government funds leading to increased government borrowing from domestic market. Then misuse funds in infrastructure fund on questionable investments so that instead of spending on infrastructure projects that build value for future generations, the fund is making easy money available for government misappropriation

2. Kenya’s National Infrastructure Fund has begun deploying its KES 340B seed capital into domestic government bonds, with the full amount expected to be invested by June 2027 and generate ~KES 42B annually.
The fund is targeting KES 3.6T over the next decade for infrastructure investment, including a planned stake in Dangote’s Lamu refinery.

The widow of the late human rights lawyer Juma Kiplenge, Jedida, leads family members in presenting his personal library to the Law Society of Kenya, Nakuru Chapter, at the Nakuru Law Courts, four years after his death. The collection, which includes legal texts, statutes, biographies, literature, and other books that remained at his residence since October 2022, will now be kept at the Advocates’ Lounge in the new Nakuru Law Courts Building for use by advocates and members of the Judiciary. The family donated the books to honour Kiplenge’s legacy.

Especially with this regime
The President cannot constitutionally make roadside declarations and commit use of public funds even if it is for a good cause. Increasingly the President is behaving as if he can give directives on everything. A dangerous trend of misleading information and misuse of public money
In a historic first, President @WilliamsRuto extends compensation to the scores of victims of the River Yala gruesome killings and reaffirms the state’s commitment for justice for those with claims of unlawful disappearances. Let justice flow down like a torrent from the mountains @compensationke

The reason Ruto speaks confidently in rallies telling us to use “formal channels “ to get documents held by the state is he knows his gatekeepers in Parliament will never approve this business to make it to the floor. This one on the Lamu Refinery has suffered the same fate. We must uproot this entire system in 2027 to rescue our country.
MAJOR BREAKING: Millionaire tycoon Wicknell Chivayo has died after a helicopter crash in Marondera. His wife Lucy Muteke among the 6 victims. There were no survivors.
A police statement said: “The ZRP confirms a plane crash in Marondera Rural area at 1700 hours. The aircraft had 6 occupants.”
This is kind of press discussion is totally unprofessional. Once you cease representing a client anything and everything you discussed is under client privilege. The Advocates should just walk away. There is no need to justify their actions to the gallery
Any idea why the audience has to keep nodding their heads?? Ama hiyo ndio showing moral support!!!

UPDATE: The "King of Fakes" sat his KCSE at Kimilili Boys Sec School in 2000. He scored a C Plain. He was not eligible for direct entry into undergraduate study
🌻Then he doctored the slip. And the certificate. Suddenly: B Minus. 62 points. Mean grade 7.75.
🌻The math? 62 ÷ 8 = 7.75. Clean. KNEC's B- band is 7.5–8.49. 7.75 sits right in it.
🌻The forgery is flawless. The original grade isn't.
🌻He had a Senior Principal Magistrate in Bungoma to certify the fake copy of KCSE certify on May 5, 2007 #ReportFakeDegrees
A long statement that says nothing!!

You never appreciate the depth and breadth of the delinquency of this regime until you have fully read the High Court Judgment on the GOK sale of Safaricom shares.
Besides process two major questions stand out. The sale hands over control to an existing shareholder making them majority holders. This has legal implications from a merger takeover angle. Secondly security concerns given Safaricom role in the critical financial infrastructure. Those concerns are then addressed by whether the process was followed. Obviously this transaction was rushed with no material disclosures. Finally remember government owes assets as a trustee for the Kenyan people. Its ownership does not give it exclusive control unlike private property ownership. So any sale must strictly comply with the law and should be for the benefit of Kenyan people.

During H.E Uhuru's time sensitive and lucrative government legal briefs used to go to the best Kikuyu lawyer in town assisted by few other Kenyans..sometimes including myself. Government used to pay top fees and no one used to ask for a bribe or kickbacks. Work was done, fees is paid and all went well. Nowadays, tribe or competence are irrelevant. CSs or Parastatal heads give work to lawyers who are willing to give back 70 to 80% of legal fees as bribe. Lawyers retain only 20% of their fees. Nobody gives a hoot about the case. The higher it goes on appeal, the more fees is paid and the standard 70 to 80% is given back to the CS and Parastatals heads. That is why case after case involving government is tossed out daily. It isnt because judges are necessarily anti government. It is because government has lost character and every government officials is stealing in every possible manner as if the world will end tomorrow.
Does it suprise anyone that the High Court invalidated the Safaricom share sell?? The Government’s propensity for ignoring legal provisions, treating laws as mere suggestions & believing they can buy anyone is the cause of such major upsets. If the deal was legitimate it wouldn’t have been conducted in a such a shambolic manner and the buyer would have been prudent to await the Court outcome. But a mistaken assumption that the sale cannot be overturned coupled with compromising the Court of Appeal to cheekily allow the sale leaves the wheeler dealers with egg on their face.
Poor understanding of the law!!!
A dumb ruling. Interesting how the courts ignore Parliament in a Representative democracy. Public participation has now become the weapon of choice for Judiciary to cripple the Executive. In the process, courts have ignored impact of such ludicrous decisions on business & investment. @Kenyajudiciary
