.@USComptroller Jonathan V. Gould: @POTUS and @SecScottBessent are leading a community bank comeback by unleashing Parallel Prosperity for Main Street and Wall Street. We are cutting unnecessary regulatory friction, tailoring supervision to actual risk, and strengthening community banks’ ability to grow and continue to meet the needs of the customers and small businesses they serve.
Under @POTUS and @SecScottBessent’s leadership, the @USTreasury’s Do Not Pay program has prevented fraud and stopped improper payments totaling $175 million. There is no tolerance for waste, fraud, and abuse and this critical tool better protects taxpayer dollars. The OCC supports this effort and is delivering concrete tools and resources to strengthen fraud reporting for our community bankers.

.@USComptroller Jonathan V. Gould: Cracking down on fraud has been a top priority of the Trump Administration from day one. Under the leadership of @POTUS Trump and @VP Vance – who coordinates the interagency Task Force to Eliminate Fraud – as well as @SecScottBessent, we have put the force and gravitas of the entire U.S. government behind that commitment.

.@USComptroller: @SecScottBessent has made clear that @USTreasury always follows the money, and criminals who seek to exploit the U.S. financial system or prey on American families and taxpayers will suffer severe consequences. In January, Treasury announced numerous actions to thwart fraud and illicit finance in Minnesota’s Twin Cities, including launching ongoing investigations and a geographic targeting order. Additionally, Treasury’s Do Not Pay program has seen tremendous success in record time. This critical tool to prevent fraud and improper payments to better protect taxpayer dollars has seen a twentyfold increase in the last fiscal year alone. The Trump Administration has made clear there is no tolerance for waste, fraud, and abuse – and @USOCC is proud to support this whole-of-government effort.

Under the leadership of @POTUS, @VP and @SecScottBessent, the Trump Administration is committed to stopping those who seek to exploit the U.S. financial system or prey on hardworking American families and taxpayers. Our community bankers are on the frontlines of this effort combatting fraud, and we were pleased to hear directly from them yesterday at a roundtable in Minneapolis.
Between 2020 and 2024, filings of suspicious activity reports related to check fraud increased nearly 300% in Minnesota. In support of the Trump Administration’s priority to eliminate fraud and protect Americans from illicit activity, Comptroller Jonathan V. Gould convened a panel of local community bankers in Minneapolis to discuss recent financial fraud in Minnesota, the role of banks to identify and combat fraud, and the OCC’s commitment to support banks in their efforts to protect their customers. occ.gov/news-issuances/news-…

Financial literacy fuels the American Dream and helps unlock financial freedom. The new National Strategy for Financial Literacy puts a clear focus on helping Americans save, invest, navigate digital finance, and protect themselves against scams and fraud. At @USOCC, we are proud to be a part of this effort to equip Americans with the knowledge to take control of their financial futures and participate in the world’s greatest economy.
The newest United States National Strategy for Financial Literacy is a roadmap to help every American build the knowledge and skills needed to achieve financial security for themselves and their families.
The advent of Trump Accounts demonstrates what this approach looks like in practice. By giving young Americans and their families an opportunity to save and invest together, we can make financial education tangible, help a new generation establish sound financial habits from an early age, and build the knowledge and confidence to participate in our financial markets.

Without the American military, there would be no national banking system to keep safe, sound, and prosperous. The men and women who serve our country, and the families who stand behind them, deserve access to financial institutions that understand their unique circumstances.
It was an honor to address this year’s Military Banking Summit and discuss @USOCC’s actions to reduce regulatory burden and tailor supervision for community banks, including military banks. We are proud that veterans and active-duty servicemen account for around 10% of our workforce here at the OCC, and we are grateful to all who serve or have served the United States, safeguarding our freedoms and way of life.

Very productive visit to Oklahoma City last week. I joined Community Bankers of Oklahoma (@CBAOK) for a fireside chat focused on @USOCC’s priorities, including recalibrating risk, strengthening bank supervision, and embracing responsible innovation. I also had the opportunity to meet with our local colleagues and hear about their hard work to ensure the federal banking system remains safe, sound, and supportive of economic growth.

The Texas economy is growing rapidly thanks in large part to the Lone Star State's smart, business-friendly regulatory environment. I appreciated the opportunity to tour the new state-of-the-art @NYSE Texas and discuss ways in which @USOCC can continue to support growth, dynamism, and innovation in capital markets.

Hearing directly from the community bankers driving the American economy is one of the most rewarding parts of my role. Last week in Dallas, I met with more than a dozen community bankers convened by the Independent Bankers Association of Texas.
@USOCC is not only committed to reducing unnecessary regulatory burden but also ensuring that our regulatory and supervisory frameworks are properly calibrated and focused on the risks that truly matter, particularly those that could materially affect a bank’s financial condition.

Remembering September 11, 2001.
On the 25th anniversary of the attacks, we pause to reflect on the lives lost, the resilience of our Nation, and the extraordinary service and sense of duty that have guided so many of our public servants every day since.
Treasury’s Office of Terrorism and Financial Intelligence was created in response to 9/11, marking a new chapter in Treasury’s role in protecting our Nation’s security.
We will never forget.
