The NDA will facilitate collaboration in manufacturing, technology transfer to India and commercialisation of immunoglobulin products, including anti-thymocyte globulin necessary for human organ transplantation and other blood disorders.

"Indo-German Workshop on Quantum Sensing with Quantum Materials: Present and Future", funded by the Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (IGSTC), commenced today at IFW Dresden.
Co-organized by S. N. Bose National Centre, India, IFW Dresden, and TU Dresden, the workshop brings together leading quantum scientists from India and Germany to discuss the latest advances and future directions in quantum sensing and quantum materials.

The final day will focus on strengthening academiaโindustry partnerships through interactions with startups and spin-off companies.

Dr. Ramesh Nayaka, Assistant Professor and Associate Dean (Infrastructure, Planning and Support), recently completed a one-month research stay at Technische Universitรคt Dresden (TU Dresden), Germany, under the PECFAR Fellowship.

A particularly memorable aspect of the visit was reconnecting, after nearly 12 years, with two students from the first batch he taught at NIT CalicutโDr. Abhiram B R in the Czech Republic and Dr. Shreya Satheesh in Belgium. Their professional achievements and enduring mentor-student relationship made the experience especially meaningful.
Dr. Nayaka also interacted with Hemmeya Kannadigaru, Dresden, the local Kannada community, which offered a warm sense of home during his stay abroad.
He expressed his gratitude to the Indo-German Science & Technology Centre (PECFAR Fellowship), IIT Dharwad, TU Dresden, and all the hosts, colleagues, and former students who contributed to making the fellowship a rewarding and enriching experience.

Scientific Secretary Dr. Parvinder Maini joined the India-Germany Panel on โFuture of Higher Education, Research, and Tech-Transfer: Opportunities and Challengesโ at Vigyan Bhawan on 8 April 2026, to discuss emerging trends, opportunities, and risks at the intersection of academic research, technology transfer, and education.
Dr Maini shared insights with respect to Indiaโs science advice mechanism and national science-policy architecture, highlighted the role of Prime Ministerโs Science Technology and Innovation Council (PM-STIAC) and Empowered Technology Group (ETG) in shaping various national policies, programs and missions. While highlighting the dedicated policy exercises taken up by the Government of India in promoting deep tech startups and innovation ecosystem, Dr Maini talked about the policy instruments including Deep Tech Fund of Funds.
