#CEW2020 Spotlight on our Care-Experienced Staff Student Mentoring. One of our staff mentors is Andrea Butler, Scholarship Adviser. She and her mentee have been working together since September 2019.

Andrea says “I really enjoy being a Mentor as I get to connect and help students that may be in need of advice or signposting to departments and I can be that contact for them, I also love seeing my mentee grow and progress through University life!”

Andrea’s mentee said “Andrea is fab, we have so much in common and just get on well. She is really good to talk too not only about uni things but life in general. Really couldn't have asked for a better mentor, I’m really lucky to have her through my time at uni.”

Young Carer Grant is a £305.10 annual payment for 16, 17 and 18 year olds who care for someone getting a disability benefit. If it’s been a year since you had a payment you should check if you’re still eligible and apply again. Read more here: socialsecurity.gov.scot/news…

This #nationalmentoringday & #CEW2020 we are highlighting our staff mentoring programme for care-experienced students. It's not academic, but simply a friendly face and cheerleader to help our students get involved in university life and access the opportunities on offer.
