Because pattern recognition is easy. The people who created those games and turned them into some of the greatest franchises of all time are no longer at the studio. The activist that replaced them made ideologically fueled trash games that no one bought.

Like most modern studios, their mission statement became pushing ideological views and going to war with customers. EA damn sure didn't help, but it's not the cause.
