White House Special Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Norway today before traveling to Russia to further negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin, a change from past visits, where he has often prioritized meeting with President Putin first.
This comes amidst increased European-U.S. tensions and an ongoing diplomatic row between Ukraine and the U.S., with both being centered around restricted military and operational aid to Ukraine and U.S. President Donald J. Trump’s increasing characterization of Russia as the more responsible actor in the war, and the U.S.’s increased pressure on Ukraine to take concessions that they deem to be out of the question (particularly territorial concessions).

Let's be clear: Ukraine did not start this war. Russia did.
What American national interest is served by helping an imperial dictator at the expense of a democracy fighting for its survival?

Today in Oslo, I met with King Haakon VIII of Norway. I thank His Majesty, the Government, and all the Norwegian people for their support for Ukraine.
We discussed the return of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia. We must bring every Ukrainian child home. We discussed what steps we can take to make this happen. We are also doing everything we can to help our people in Oleshky, which is under Russian occupation. The situation there is simply horrific.
I thank Norway for standing with Ukraine and the Ukrainian people during this difficult time.

🇷🇺🇺🇸 A Russian satellite crept within a few HUNDRED meters of a U.S. satellite helping Ukraine, then suddenly backed off.
And nobody knows what it was up to.
Russia's Kosmos 2612 spent weeks closing in on ICEYE-X36, a commercial radar satellite supplying imagery to Ukraine's military.
It went from trailing by 300 miles to just a couple hundred meters away, repeatedly adjusting its position to stay close.
Was it SPYING? Testing its capabilities? Or preparing to ATTACK?
Analysts can't say for sure. And by yesterday, the Russian craft had retreated more than 250 miles.
The worrying part is that Kosmos 2612 could come BACK.
Russia launched 5 other mysterious satellites alongside it in April, and analysts warn this might not be a one-off encounter.
Apparently, the cat-and-mouse games between Russia and the West now extend hundreds of miles ABOVE Earth.

🇵🇱🇺🇦 Poland says it has NO MORE Patriot interceptors left to give to Ukraine...
Warsaw's Foreign Minister spoke to the Polish Press Agency yesterday, calling it a "genuine problem."
Sikorski said the shortage of interceptors had worsened after the Iran war, and that Russia now produces more missiles.
Zelensky says the U.S. is currently supplying only 12 Patriots per month, 1/4 the number provided under the Biden admin.
Now they won't be getting them from Poland, either.

Whoever interviews Stratton next needs to ask him about this claim...
Coulthart: "I know [Trump] knows full well now about the existence of the Legacy [UFO/UAP] retrieval and reverse engineering program. I know it's being overseen by...@DevinNunes."
This is what Stratton told @BretBaier...
Baier: "You think [Trump has] seen all the real evidence? Do you think he's in the brief?"
Stratton: "No, Bret, I don't think he's seen it. I think he's still being shielded from the truth. And we have to work hard to bring the truth to the president because the president that goes to the microphone to tell the world we're not alone...that's a monumental moment."
Maybe it's semantics? According to Ross, Trump KNOWS about the C/R program. If true, maybe he hasn't actually SEEN it with his own eyes?
Not sure how Ross can say he KNOWS Trump knows about it unless Trump told him. Seems like Ross may have sources who told him Trump knows, but that's different than Ross KNOWING. Big word.

I have a very good relationship with Giorgia Meloni, and I respect her greatly. I am grateful to the people of Italy and everyone who supports Ukraine. But our gratitude is not just words. We are already sharing our experience. They receive feedback from us on which Italian-made and European-made weapons work and which do not, and what we have improved technologically. We share all of this with Italian manufacturers.
We have established joint production facilities in Italy and Ukraine – these are Ukrainian-Italian companies. We have a very good relationship with Leonardo. We are grateful to them. And they receive a lot from us. I am very glad that we support each other in this way and that the Italians’ level of technological expertise is increasing. Italians work at the enterprises and factories opening in Italy. I think this is also very important. It means not only jobs but also assistance for Ukraine and Italy.

It suits the Kremlin to have Washington believe that a deal with Putin is just around the corner. One more meeting, one more concession, one more phone call. And while the Americans wait for a peace deal, Russia keeps waging war.
Russia gets concessions. Ukraine gets pressure.
Kushner has again demanded that Ukraine stop striking Russian oil refineries. This works well for the Kremlin: Washington is already making concessions to Russia while demanding concrete concessions from Ukraine. As long as Moscow keeps hopes of a deal alive, the US may hold off on new sanctions and persuade Kyiv to accept additional terms for the sake of successful negotiations.
Talks can go on forever. Even while the war continues.
Discussing a new document or a possible summit allows American mediators to report progress toward peace. Russia retains direct access to Washington and the opportunity to sell its version of why the war began and what it would take to end it.
No luck with peace? Let’s talk business.
Dmitriev has reported discussions about joint projects, including nuclear-powered data centers. Walking away from the talks would then mean giving up the benefits the US administration hopes to gain.
Open-ended demands allow Moscow to keep bargaining.
Without a definitive list of Russian conditions, every round can end with statements about progress and the need for further consultations. Meanwhile, Moscow can keep adding demands.
Take Putin’s October 16 statement about a “security zone” in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, which he does not intend to discuss in peace negotiations. Russia maintains an additional territorial demand while simultaneously signaling its willingness to meet with the US.
In St. Petersburg, watch what Russia actually agrees to do.
Which strikes will it stop? When? Who will verify this? What security guarantees for Ukraine will it accept?
Without this, another “very constructive conversation” will simply mean the Americans have had their hopes raised again. They will leave to prepare for the next meeting, and Russia will keep waging war.
Jay Stratton tells Chris Cuomo the UAP Legacy Program is comprised of the CIA, U.S. Air Force, Department of Energy, and “defense contractor community”
President Trump is not aware of the program’s effort to recover and reverse-engineer “craft of non-human origin” per Stratton.

Senior Kremlin officials reaffirmed Russian support for Iran and explicitly defined the United States as Russia’s long-term adversary, despite the recent unilateral US concession to Moscow – offering Russia a diesel export waiver.
Former Commander of the Ukrainian 60th Ingulets Separate Mechanized Brigade Major Dmytro Rohozyuk became the acting commander of Ukraine’s 3rd Army Corps (AC) while Brigadier General Andrii Biletskyi continues to command Ukraine’s Center Group of Forces (GoF) in Donetsk’s Fortress Belt.
Russia launched 165 drones against Ukraine overnight.
Ukrainian forces advanced east of Sumy City, and Russian forces advanced south of Orikhiv.
MORE: Ukrainian forces continue to face in-motion speed restrictions to SpaceX’s low-earth orbit satellite communication technology (Starlink and Starshield) that limit Ukraine’s ability to counter Russian piston engine-driven and jet-powered strike drones.
Ukrainian Presidential Advisor on Defense Technologies Serhiy “Flash” Beskrestnov stated on October 19 that the 160 kilometers per hour (around 100 miles per hour) in-motion speed restrictions to Ukraine’s satellite internet service as part of the Starshield package remain in place.
Beskrestnov emphasized that the Starshield in-motion speed restrictions disrupt data transmission to Ukrainian drones used to intercept Russian piston engine-driven Geran drones since the helicopters fly faster than 160 kilometers per hour. Beskrestnov noted that the Starshield speed restrictions limit Ukraine’s jet-powered interceptor drones.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on October 19 that Ukraine continues to experience speed restrictions on Starlink and Starshield services in various sectors of the frontline that undermine Ukraine’s frontline logistics, intermediate-range strikes, and counter-drone air defense operations.
Starshield is a more secure, jam-resistant, and military-oriented version of the Starlink satellite network that SpaceX designed for government use, while Starlink serves civilian and commercial purposes. Ukrainian forces do not have access to Starshield or any other Starlink services over Russian territory, as SpaceX has geographically restricted Ukraine’s access to within Ukraine’s international borders.
Data from Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces (USF) between July 1, 2026, and October 19, 2026, indicates that the Starshield in-motion speed restriction, which Ukrainian forces first reported on October 14, has significantly degraded Ukraine’s intermediate-range strike campaign targeting primarily Russian logistics across the frontline. ⬇️
