Speaking to the local government leaders earlier today, @PBYONANEBYE Commissioner for Disability and Elderly Affairs, asked them to support Persons with Disabilities to access national ID services. "Without a National ID, access to government programmes will remain challenge."
@PBYONANEBYE was speaking to leaders from 25 districts that will pilot the National Child Disability Assistance Programme (NCDAP).@UNICEFUganda is partnering with @Mglsd_UG to implement the initiative.Robin Nandy, the UNICEF Country Representative commended Government on NCDAP.

In Kampala today, @WFP handed over Land Cruiser vehicles to @Mglsd_UG to strengthen the Expanding Social Protection Programme's Regional Technical Support Units.
Permanent Secretary Aggrey David Kibenge commended WFP's continued support, while Country Director @WanjaKaaria said the contribution will enhance the effective delivery of social protection programmes — advancing WFP's strategic plan to strengthen Uganda's systems through country-owned solutions.

The older Refugees, 80 years and over, in Palorinya Settlement, Obongi district have today recieved their grant under the Social Cash Transfer for Elderly Refugees (SCTER) initiative. SCTER is implemented by @Mglsd_UG with support from @WFP_Uganda and the @IrlEmbUganda. Over 800 elderly refugees have so far benefited from the programme. @OPMUganda
