The inaugural Africa Mindset Reset Forum has officially come to a close in Kigali. Convened by the @ASG_Africa, the #MindsetReset2026 Forum brought together more than 6,000 registered participants from 74 countries, including over 1,000 who attended in person. Across two days, Kigali became a convening point for conversations on African leadership, governance, human capital, institutions and the continent’s capacity to shape its own future. For Ms Monica Geingos, the development of young African human capital is the catalyst behind this work.
The urgency of developing a strong bench of ethical and purpose-driven young Africans is what drives the work of the @LabYetu, informs the work of the @One_Namibia, compelled her to champion the work at the @EJSCenter and inspired her service to @Kepler_College.

At #UNGA80, I was honored to address the High-Level Meeting on Peace & Security. 80 years on, the world demands candor. The multilateral system is underperforming, and our global leaders must be audible & accountable. It's time to act, not just with words, but with a renewed vision for peace, a re-commitment to the UN Charter, and women at the table.
That's why I'm so proud that at #CGI2025, we announced a landmark $30M Commitment to Action to establish the African Women’s House in Liberia and advance the @EJSCenter's programs. This hub will be the first of its kind and the work of the Center is a testament to our belief that investing in women's leadership isn't just a talking point—it's the key to Africa's future.

As part of our events at UNGA, @skochmehrin and I as Chairperson of the Board, were delighted to present our @WPLeadersOrg WPL Trailblazer Award to former President of Liberia , Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf @MaEllenSirleaf in New York. The award is usually presented to incumbent and former women Presidents and Prime Ministers for breaking political glass ceilings and reaching the highest echelon of political leadership to make real impact.
A joint winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, Sis Ellen as I fondly call her, led Liberia’s recovery from devastating civil wars that had torn the country apart for over a decade. Under her leadership, the country maintained peace and stability, allowing for the return of nation and institutions building processes in pursuit of development.
As then VP of the World Bank, it was my distinct pleasure for our team to work with her on economic reforms and debt relief. Johnson Sirleaf implemented crucial economic reforms that formed the basis for successfully negotiating the debt cancellation of Liberia’s massive foreign debt (over $4 billion), which had been crippling the nation’s development prospects.
For these and many other leadership strides, we were glad to spend time together and present her the award as she joins the other WPL Trailblazer Awardees like Erna Solberg, Prime Minister of Norway (2013-2021), Joyce Banda, President of Malawi (2012-2014), Laura Chinchilla Miranda, President of Costa Rica (2010-2014), Mary Robinson, President of Ireland (1990-1997), Michèle Pierre-Louis, Prime Minister of Haiti (2008-2009), Sahle-Work Zewde, President of Ethiopia,
Jóhanna Sigurðardóttir, Prime Minister of Iceland (2009-2013), Vaira Vīķe-Freiberga, President of Latvia (1999-2007).
She remains active in global affairs and through the @EJSCenter - a symbol of tenacity of purpose to many around the world, especially women of all generations that are inspired by her political footprint.
