Tarrant County is the best place to live, work, and raise a family in America.
It was a pleasure to highlight how special Tarrant County is at the Fort Worth Chamber’s State of the County today. Here are some of the facts I got to share:
✅ 23.1% reduction in the combined property tax rate (Tarrant County and JPS) over four years.
✅ Lowest property tax rate of the large urban Texas counties.
✅ Reduced operating budget by $70 million over four years while increasing Sheriff and DA budgets and improving services for families in need.
✅ Crime rate down three years in a row.
✅ Lowest crime rate of the large urban Texas counties.
Thank you to the Chamber for putting on such a great event!

Judge Tim O’Hare is careful with your money. While others talk about spending, O'Hare has delivered: lower property taxes, the county’s first-ever homestead exemption, and tens of millions cut from the budget, all while funding public safety and improving services.
Tarrant County families work hard for every dollar. They deserve a County Judge who treats taxpayer money the same way.

Thank you, Governor Abbott (@GregAbbott_TX), for highlighting the work we’ve done reducing property taxes in Tarrant County.
✅ Lowered tax rates below No-New-Revenue Rate four straight years for both Tarrant County and JPS.
✅ Added Homestead Exemptions for county and JPS, now at maximum 20% allowed by state law.
✅ Cut Tarrant County operating budget by over $70 million over four years.
✅ Saved families and businesses over $1.1 billion over four years.
There’s only so much one county can do. The Governor has a five-point plan to help lower taxes across the state, which Commissioner Ramirez (@MannyRamirez_TX), Commissioner Krause (@MattKrauseTX) and I fully support!
See below for the Governor’s 5-point plan. It will be a game-changer for Texans.

Thanks to @CLEAT @DavidCookTexas @joanhuffman there is a new statute in the penal code for jugging that has clearly enabled law enforcement to apprehend these criminals by enhancing the investigative ability with preparatory offenses, etc. it’s working statewide.
🚨 JUGGING INVESTIGATION LEADS TO FOUR ARRESTS IN TEXAS
The Austin County Sheriff’s Office says an investigation into suspected “jugging” crimes led to four arrests and uncovered connections to other theft cases across Texas.
Investigators say they were monitoring a vehicle linked to a Houston-area crew suspected of jugging and catalytic converter thefts. Authorities followed the group to the New Braunfels area before the vehicle was stopped on I-10 near the Colorado/Austin County line.
According to the sheriff’s office, investigators determined the suspects were connected to an open Best Buy theft investigation in Pflugerville and had allegedly just left a smash-and-grab theft at a New Braunfels Best Buy involving nearly $8,000 in merchandise.
Three suspects, Jayden Devon Actkins, Fredrick Cortez Graham and Christopher Michael Gordon, were arrested on organized crime charges. A fourth suspect, a juvenile, was also taken into custody.
Additional theft charges are pending, and authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
⚠️ Jugging is when criminals watch or follow someone leaving a bank or business and then steal cash or valuables from the person or their vehicle.
