💙 HONORING THOSE WHO SERVE TEXAS. TMPA Director Ashley Daley, Deputy Executive Director Mitch Landry, and Central Texas Field Representative David Kurylowicz joined law enforcement leaders from across the state at the Texas Governor’s Mansion to celebrate the start of Law Enforcement Appreciation Month. Throughout October, we recognize the men and women who put on the badge every day to protect our communities — and the families who stand behind them. 🚨 THIS SHOULD OPEN THE EYES OF EVERY TEXAN. What unfolded at the Texas Capitol yesterday raised deeply serious questions about WHO is influencing criminal-justice policy in Travis County. Victims’ families described feeling ignored. Law enforcement representatives raised concerns about the prosecution of officers. Legislators demanded answers about charging decisions and outside influence. Then came questions about the WREN COLLECTIVE — an outside organization that has provided policy and communications assistance to prosecutors, including the Travis County DA’s Office. That should lead every Texan to ask: WHO IS ACTUALLY SETTING PROSECUTORIAL POLICY? Is it the district attorney elected by Travis County voters — or are outside organizations and political interests influencing policies that ultimately affect which cases are prosecuted and how justice is administered? José Garza received significant campaign support in 2020 from a PAC substantially funded by George Soros. But the hearing did not establish that Soros or Wren dictates the outcome of individual criminal cases. That distinction matters. What was established is that lawmakers are asking serious questions about transparency, outside relationships, victims, and the prosecution of law enforcement. And Garza himself did not appear to answer them. ⚠️ TEXANS SHOULD BE PAYING ATTENTION. The Texas Penal Code should never become a political weapon. Victims deserve a voice. Officers deserve impartial justice. And Texans deserve to know exactly WHO is influencing the policies inside an elected prosecutor’s office. TRAVIS COUNTY DESERVES ANSWERS. TEXAS DESERVES TRANSPARENCY. #txlege

🚨 TEXAS LAW ENFORCEMENT DESERVES ANSWERS. 🚨 A @MesquitePD_TX officer was kicked in the face, underwent multiple surgeries and lost a tooth. The defendant was already on felony probation. @Dallas_DA prosecutor Matthew Perez McCurdy still dismissed the assault and resisting charges “in the interest of justice”—without first notifying the officer. Then came this promise: If the defendant “places a toe out of line, we will throw the book at him.” Apparently, permanently injuring an officer was not enough. This is John Creuzot’s office. The social experiment is over. This was not justice. It was betrayal. #TMPA #DallasCounty #BackTheBlue
