We were proud to host @CLEAT's 50th Annual Convention, kicking off the celebration at the Alamo with live music from The Public Servants! Founded by San Antonio police officers in the mid-1970s, CLEAT has spent 50 years standing strong for Texas law enforcement.

🗳️ I was honored to represent @CLEAT at a Governor @GregAbbott_TX roundtable in Rockwall this week. I began my law enforcement career 20 years ago at the Attorney General’s Office where Abbott was serving as the AG. Even back then he was prioritizing public safety, expanding law enforcement and protecting Texas children when other states failed to do so. He’s a leader for law enforcement and has always “backed the blue.” I’ve been blessed to have worked with his amazing policy teams for the past seven years on critical legislation to combat some of the serious issues police officers face in this new day. As a former Austin Police Officer not once did his opponent come to us asking how to help. The last decade had been difficult for Texas law enforcement and we working under intense pressure all across the State. I look forward to our continued work with the Governor on public safety issues. Early voting begins Monday. ✅

Welcome to CLEAT! 🎉 Hadley Gable has joined CLEAT Legal as a Staff Attorney in the Dallas Office.
Hadley brings a commitment to hard work, integrity, and discipline shaped by years of athletic and scholastic achievement. As an Assistant Attorney General for the State of Mississippi, she became the inaugural Director of the Children’s Justice Division and served as legal representative to the only Mississippi agency committed to the welfare of vulnerable children statewide. She and those under her leadership were the first line of defense against neglect and abuse. Furthermore, Hadley and her team also criminally prosecuted individuals who failed to pay child support.
Hadley previously served in multiple roles for the Mississippi Department of Human Services, including Inspector General, Senior Attorney, and Chief of Staff for the Deputy Executive Director. As Inspector General, she oversaw the Programmatic Quality Control, SNAP Quality Control, Administrative Hearings, Investigations, Claims and Benefit Recovery Unit, and Internal Audit divisions.
Upon completion of her Juris Doctorate degree at Mississippi College School of Law in 2011, Hadley worked in private legal practice for four years until joining MDHS in 2017.
Hadley was selected to the 2020 Class of MEC’s Leadership Mississippi. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Mississippi State University, where she was a four-year letter recipient for the Mississippi Soccer Team.
Please join us in welcoming Hadley to CLEAT!

Thank you, Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick, for joining us in San Antonio for CLEAT’s 50th Annual Convention and for your continued support of Texas law enforcement.
Lt. Gov. Patrick delivered a powerful and engaging address to CLEAT members from across the state who gathered with us for this milestone celebration. His remarks were thoroughly enjoyed by convention attendees and included a fitting recitation of “The Ballad of the Alamo,” just steps from the historic Alamo itself.
We appreciate Lt. Gov. Patrick taking the time to be part of this special occasion and helping us celebrate 50 years of CLEAT!

At CLEAT, supporting and appreciating law enforcement isn’t reserved for just one day of the year. But we’ll gladly take another excuse to say "THANK YOU!" 💙
On Thank a Police Officer Day, we recognize the officers who show up every day to serve their communities, protect others, and answer the call.
To law enforcement officers everywhere: thank you for all you do.
🚨 IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CLEAT Expresses Concern Over Law Enforcement Technology Reversal in Hays County 🚨
“The concern is that the current sentiment swirling in the media and across the country surrounding law enforcement technology is negatively impacting basic needs and advancements in current equipment and software...” said CLEAT Executive Director Robert Leonard. “These tools are paramount to public safety, enhance law enforcement service to the community, are a force multiplier, and ensure efficiency.”

A big win in San Angelo. 👏
The San Angelo City Council voted 7-0 yesterday to ratify a new one-year Meet and Confer agreement with the San Angelo Police Officers Coalition.
The agreement includes pay increases to bring salaries to more comparable benchmarks, a new process for out-of-state lateral peace officers, a physical fitness incentive, and a budget for cardiac testing related to presumptive coverage.
SAPOC President and longtime CLEAT member Blue Flores credited CLEAT and Jeff Lake for helping the association navigate a particularly challenging negotiation.
“This year especially could not have been done without CLEAT or Jeff,” he said. “Jeff was prepared for it all and his ability to advocate and tenaciously defend our position was a major benefit.”
Congratulations to SAPOC on getting this agreement across the finish line and continuing to move the profession forward for San Angelo officers. 💪
